Reflections for Police Officer Aubrey Wright Hawkins
I think of you often, but particularly on this night, Christmas Eve. I pray for your family and I pray you are resting in peace. I'll meet you one day. Until then, God Bless you.

I hope that Mrs. Hawkins sees this reflection. I was not aware of your husband's sacrifice but my husband is now a retired PD officer and SWAT officer after 27 years and I can only imagine the pain you have been through. I know this time of year must be extremely difficult for you and your family but your husband did not die in vain. He tried his best to keep his community safe. It was always my fear that I would lose my husband to the evil that prevails in our communities and only our officers stand in their way. Thank heaven for your husband's sacrifice and I bless you for shouldering his loss.

Not many days go by since you were taken that I don't think of you. Tonight they are highlighting your case. Just know that you aren't forgotten. I'll meet you in Heaven one day. My thoughts and prayers are always with your loves ones.

I remember working with you at St. Paul. Such good memories or our little family before we all went on into Law Enforcement. Aubrey was so funny and happy. He laughed and we always had a good time. If you ever needed backup or help, I would turn around and Aubrey was there.
Avis Stone, James Burns, Luther, and Wendy, all my family. Great memories. I only wish I could have pushed in the medicine to those bastards. May you 7 burn in hell.
Aubrey know your Son has grown into a great guy. I met him at James funeral. I got to share some memories.

I worked a late shift at Baylor (Irving) on Christmas eve... the night officer Hawkins was killed. I remember passing the Beltline and 183 bridge about 830pm. The snow fakes that night were extremely fluffy and Hugh! I'd never seen anything like that! I learned the next day that officer Hawkins had been killed. Every single Christmas Eve... I think about... and pray for his son. I wish him health, happiness and a sense of well-being!

I was coming up to my 8th year in law enforcement the night Ofc Hawkins was killed. His death had a profound effect on me and on this the 20th anniversary of his death I honor his memory and pray God continues to comfort his family.

You will never be forgotten. We see your face and your impact whenever we enter our facilities. Your example and your lessons are still taught at the academy today. Your sacrifice rings true, maybe more today than it ever does.
You continue to be a driving force in our PD, patrol will never forget.
Many of us never met you, but you represent us all.
Rest Easy, Sir.

Well Sir, the bastards that took you from us are burning in hell. I'm really pissed that you were shot multiple times and run over having a painful death while they got to lye down on a padded bed and only feel the prick of a needle before drifting off. I say they deserved worse. You're one of my heroes. It makes me so disappointed hearing that people can be this horrible. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Aubrey,
I still think of you so often, I also think of our friend, James Burns who recently went to be with the Lord due to leukemia. We all had so much fun together while at St Paul Medical Center Police Department during the 90's! It broke my heart that our agency was eliminated when UT at Southwest took over St Paul and was eventually torn down a few years later. So many fond memories there!!! We were a close family. I'll here some say I wish I can go back in time to relive the good times again and undo certain events, but we all know that is impossible!! All we can do is press forward and cherish the good memories!! Can't believe it has been almost 19 years since we lost you!! Miss you Aubrey, and you too Lori and James!!!

This last Thursday I had a BBQ at my office about a mile away from where Aubrey was murdered. We had 9 officers from IPD join us for BBQ. Great men and women. Many who knew Aubrey and had served with him.
Even though it’s been 18 years since your EOW, you will never be forgotten. Heros like Aubrey are never forgotten. May God Bless Aubrey’s family.

And a fourth was executed tonight, Garcia. As soon as the article mentioned your name I remembered. Eighteen years later I remembered and I am sure many others have not forgotten you and your family. You were murdered on Christmas eve. Contrary to the comment from Mr. Garcia, we know exactly what we are doing buddy. We administer justice, Old Testament style.
