Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Richard Eric Weinhold

I have a difficult time believing that it has been 24 years. I recall the event as if it was yesterday. Being assigned to the Communications Bureau, listening to the event as it took place, praying, crying. I think of you often and recall your happy attitude, your smile, R.I.P.

I was in here for another purpose but stopped by to leave another remembrance. I worked with Keith years ago and again offer my condolences to your family. Time does not heal all wounds and your life is not forgotten. You live on in the hearts and minds of you family and the rest of us. God bless you and all of your extended family and loved ones. It takes a special kind of man to put that uniform on and face the danger as you did. RIP.

Today we announce that your son will fight in the 32nd Annual Budweiser Guns ‘n Hoses to benefit the St. Louis BackStoppers!

He continues your legacy with our Department. And now he will do his part to care for the other survivors that have lost their loved one in the line of duty.
