Today at McDonalds in Owasso, OK, I had the pleasure of meeting your "little brother", who is now in his 80's. Seeing that I was in uniform, he struck up a conversation and proudly showed me an old black and white picture of you in your OHP uniform, which he has carried in his wallet all these years. We talked for a long time about how proud he is of your sacrifice and of the support his family received from the law enforcement community after your death. After 56 years, you are not forgotten and you are still impacting the lives of others.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 53rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.
Rest in peace!

Trooper Barter,
On today, the 47th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Oklahoma. At least it did not take long for your murderer to meet the justice that he deserved.
