I worked with Chris and always new him to have the respect of everyone he came in contact with. Truly a heartbreaking and senseless act that resulted in the loss of a great man. RIP Chris you are missed.

Chris was an outstanding example of a law enforcement officer. We tried one of his last cases together and he was the ultimate professional. The City of Warren has never been the same since his passing. Chris was a true American hero.

I was just sitting here talking with my mother. Officer Wouters severed with my dad, Gerald Gidner. They both now rest in heaven. I remember my dad getting the call, it was on his birthday.
The men and women of law enforcement are in my thoughts and prayers everyday, those that go out everyday and those who are fallen and not forgotten.

I was a young officer in Livonia when Chris was killed. I am now a Sgt. with my department and in charge of a training unit. I tell Chris's story to my trainees all time about the importance of searching and accountability. I hope his story will keep my young officers ever vigilant during searches.

Although we didn't know each other well, our sons are close friend and have been since they were 10 yrs old. They played hockey together, attended high school and even college together. He's such a great person...you would be proud. I'm so glad that Ben has a friend in him.

Dear Chris,
Your Dad has joined you in Heaven. While we on Earth will miss him, I’m sure he is so happy to be with you. After our daughter was killed, your Dad and Mom were there for us. During the six years plus years, we have been fortunate enough to develop a wonderful friendship. All of us in MI-COPS will miss him tremendously.

I met your sister the other day. We had a great time talking. She is a wonderful person and I am glad I was able to meet her.
Your family has done great things for fallen officers and families. You must be very proud.
