I had the pleasure of living on the same block as Pete and remember how he looked forward to becoming a Philadelphia Police Officer. I still think of him from time to time. I remember him as a kind and generous person. I believe that he was a person that his daughter would be proud of.

Dad, How much I wish that I could remember. The days, months, and years go by and I wish I could remember. I wish I could remember what it was like for you to hold me, your smell, details of you. There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish that I could remember you, that I could know you. Your wife became the best mother you could have ever possibly wished for. She is my rock, she does and provides for me everything she has. I wish she'd realize just how much she means to me, and how proud I am of her. She has stuck by me through everything that has happened in my life, even if she doesn't agree with me or my choices in life, she loves me unconditionally no matter what. Recently, I have become aware of just how important it is to be loved unconditionally, and I've also become aware that not everyone is fortunate enough to have that. And I am incredibly lucky. She, Nana and PopPop, and Titi Mimi have done so much to try to keep your memory alive. And make me realize, just how much I meant to you and how much you loved me. They have also done an amazing job at reminding me of what an amazing man you were. How many lives you saved, and how you will always be remembered. Even though I don't remember, I am so incredibly proud to be able to call you my father. You will forever be in my heart.
Love always,
Nicole
