I too served on the jury, but regrettably over the past 29 years, forgot the fallen officer's name. I apprecaiate this site for restoring my memory & I can confidently state "I will never forget the name of Officer Gordon Brewster Bartel & his service to the community." As a juror, what we knew about the case was limited to what the court saw fit for us to know. I appreciate the comments posted here so I can know how much Officer Brewster was loved & admired.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 29th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Your memory will always be honored and revered as time never diminishes respect. I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
Sarah, thanks for sharing a daughter's devotion to her beloved father. You are in my heart's embrace today.
Rest In Peace

Big Gordon,
I've thought of you every day I can remember for the last 26 years. Wish you were here. Love to you always.
Commander Lincoln,
My siblings and I would appreciate anything you have to offer concerning our father. I live in the Seattle area; perhaps I'll look you up at the PD?
To everybody,
