Reflections for Police Officer Robert J. Stanze, II

Hey Bob,
Thinking about you a lot lately. So much has changed in 8 years. You would be so proud of your family and how they have coped with your loss. It's sad to see other officers families struggle. Thanks for bringing everyone together to help in the healing process...family members, friends and police officers. We could not have done it on our own. We have all tried to act like you would want us to. Like you did your entire life. We try to see and focus on the positive things that have come from your sacrifice and not put all our energy on the negative, that would not serve any purpose and would would dishonor your memory. Continue to show us the right path to take through this journey. Your life was so much more then the one violent act committed by a criminal. Help remind us of this everyday. Miss you still.

Well the golf tournament is just around the corner. Hard to believe that it is the 9th annual. Still miss you every single day and think of you with sadness but also a smile. Watch out for us all.

Another year has come to remind us of such a tragic loss. Always in my thoughts.

You should be here.

It still makes no sense to any of us. I know some may think after 8 years that it should be getting easier and in some ways it has. But the date of 08/08 still has many of us reliving every moment of the day. I'll never forget the call telling me what happened, the drive to the hospital and the painful days that followed. They seem like yesterday.

On this day I wake up wondering what you were thinking about that morning, what you had for breakfast, who you talked to...I remember that night going back to your house and seeing everything as you had left it, thinking you'd be home that night to kiss Michelle and Wil, I remember seeing the tire swing you had just put up for Wil in the backyard...I'll never understand, but will always remember and hold you in my heart every minute of every day. Love you and miss you're smiling face and contagious laugh! Stay with us all...

Bob is in our thoughts today as he so often is. Prayers and love go out to the entire Stanze family as you feel that loss of your father, son, husband, brother, cousin, uncle. To his partner, friends, and fellow officers, may you find strength in each other as you remember this day 8 years ago and joy in remembering the happier times. Bob will always be our hero and we will never forget him.

On the 8th anniversary of Officer Stanze’s death, we honored his service during roll call by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job.

Officer Stanze is gone, but not forgotten.

To the entire Stanze Family,
We wanted to let you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We know that Friday will be a very hard day for you. You have alot of friends who are thinking of you and will be there if you need anything. We will be by this weekend to visit Nick and will say a special prayer for Bob.

Bob-
Please send signs to your family. They will really need it on Friday. We feel very fortunate to have gotten to know your family. They are all so wonderful and have helped our family so much. Give Nick a hug for us.

Please take care of the young firefighter Ryan Hummert who lost his life so senselessly yesterday. Unfortunately he will meet up with too many of you who have been taken from us all way too soon, but I know you will all be there to greet him with open arms. Please ask God to help his family as well, as we all know how terribly difficult this time ahead will be for them. Miss you and love you always!

They say that AB stock hasn't gone up in 7 years...isn't that ironic? Now they're talking about selling...what's that about? Never knew just how wide spread your loss would be, did you? From lost beer sales to broken hearts, your loss is felt. We miss you every minute of every day.

June 13, 2008

Please continue to watch over Mike and bring him home safely. If you could also watch over Chris- she could use your strength and guidance to pull her through and get her on track again with a new start. She deserves to smile again. Throwing in a sign or two here and there for the rest of us wouldn't go unappreciated either! You are thought of often & I miss you-everyday. love you Boo Bear!

Only 2 1/2 months until Mike gets back from Iraq!!! You, Stu and all the rest of the Stanze's up there have done a good job keeping him safe so far...Please keep it up...we need him home safe and sound! Please continue to ask God's blessings on TS and his family too. It never seems to end does it? Sorry to be working you so hard :-) Miss you every single day.

Hey Bobby things really stink right now. Please help me to see the lighter side of things and let me laugh again. I am tired of being hurt and hurting all the time. And if you have any pull at all, could you please help me find peace, love and happiness again and have someone else I know run over by a bus (ha ha). Well maybe not run over dead but just hurt a little : )

Really miss our talks, please send a sign.

Hey bob! Things have been really stressful lately-I could really use a sign from you. I know when you get really stressed and down, things can only improve. So, I'm trying to hold on to that & believe things will get better-soon.
I really miss you & wish I could talk to you.
love you.
