Reflections for Police Officer William Harris Williams

Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Federal Programs and Grants Adm.

Bill, thank you for always being so good to us. You will always be an excellent role model. You will always be remembered by your abuelita and abuelito. That's what all of our grandchildren call us. You always loved to call us abuelita and abuelito also. Bill you were, and will always be an exemplary son-in-law. You were always very loving, caring and considerate with my daughter Patty. Bill you will always be in our hearts and prayers. We love you very very much.

Bill,

I wish this went straight through to heaven so you could read all the wonderful things that everyone wants to tell you. I am going to believe that is true. First, we miss you. Sonny misses you and talks about you so much. You taught him so much as his partner but not just on a motorcycle but in life. I remember the day Sonny graduated and we went out to lunch, I was pregnant with Kyle then. He is now 7 and remembers you all the time. Kyle told God not to take you, which is something we all wanted. I guess God had better plans for you. I must tell you how proud I am of your family. Patty shows such incredible strength and is doing a wonderful job with the kids. I don't think I would ever be as strong as her. The only peace of mind I have is knowing you loved being a motorman and enjoyed your job. You will be in our hearts forever. Thank you for being with us and making this world a better place because you were here.

Bill! I did not know you personally, but through the eyes and heart of Minin Ruano, your mother-in-law, my friend. She always spoke so highly of you that I felt I knew you. By constantly seeing pictures of your family at different family affairs, I got to see the angel you had reflected in your face. Now that angel, is looking down on us from the heavens above, because that is where you are. You had a beautiful family, and I know they are very proud of you. May you Rest in Peace, knowing that so many people loved you.

Mr. Bill Williams!. I never accumulated the joy of meeting you in person. Your Mother-in-Law, Mrs. Minin Ruano, speaks highly of you. She has shared so many beautiful memories with her co-workers at work. Everyone loves you, but God loves you best. Rest in peace and may God bless the family.

To My Best Friend in the world, my brother which I can’t believe you’re gone; I want to
thank you for loving my kids as much as you did (Javi & Mikie). I know you are gone
but always in our hearts, and every time I’m sad, I don’t know why, but I turn the radio
on, and you’re favorite song is always on (THE ELECTRIC SLIDE). I know you are
gone but always with us.

IN OUR THOUGHTS AND OUR
HEARTS FOREVER
JAVI, MIKIE, ANA.

My dear Son,

Words cannot express the grief and saddness we experience everyday without you. You were a wonderful and dedicated son. You gave us beautiful grandchildren and through them you live on. The only comfort we feel is when we look into their faces and see your reflection in their appearance and actions. We know you taught them well and they will remember. We love you and miss you every single day of our lives.

Love,

Mom and Dad

Frank and Betty Williams

Bill,

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you or many of the others in law enforcement that have paid the ultimate price. I remember you as a caring loving person who always seemed to brighten up any one you came in contact with. You truly brightened up my years while I was at MPD and I am grateful for that. I prey that God looks after your family and all of those that loved you dearly. Bill, I know that you are now making people smile in Heaven.... Till we all meet again

Although I only knew Bill for a short time, he indeed was a fine man and definately what I expected of a motorman. He paved the way for the new guys and I dont know of anyone who rode with Bill that didnt learn something that they still practice today on the job. I have always admired is professionalism, dedication and his honesty with his fellow officers. Bill, you are truely missed by those whose lives you have touched. My prayers are with you and your family.

Your friend,

Bill

Officer Williams was a credit to the City of Miami Police Department and the time honored profession of law enforcement. I was blessed in having many occasions to work with Officer Williams as the Miami-Dade Police Department and the City of Miami Police Department enjoy both a personal and professional relationship. As a profession it is of the utmost importance that these proud Officers not be forgotten. My best to the City of Miami Motorcycle Unit and Bill's family.

As a motorman for over 11 1/2 years, this site has touched me. When we accept a job in law enforcement we realize the inherent dangers. Then add the dangers of a motorman, you have a unique bond with other riders. My condolences to the family and co-workers of Offc. Williams. Take comfort knowing he gave his life performing a duty he much enjoyed. Rest in peace brother, we will ride one day.

To the family of Officer B. Williams,
I send my deepest sympathies. I have been a member of the Columbus Police Motorcycle Squad for twelve plus years. I have lost two close friends that I worked with. Both were Motor Officer's. The miles that separate us does not stop the hurt of losing a Brother Motor Officer. Motor Officers are a special breed of Police Officer. We may wear different uniforms but, the comraderie and respect we have for each other is very strong. All Police Officer's feel this way but, it seems to be stronger among Motor Officer's. Godspeed.

I saw the heavens open up.
The earth shook with fear.
For evil knew of God's Army.
They were Heroes, on Steel Horses.

To the family and friends of Ofc Williams:

It sounds like thunder far away, but the skies are blue & bright..And soon they crest the hill nearby, and ride into our sight. They shake the ground with powerful sound, and they make some hearts beat fast..They look so proud and noble, like knights come from the past.
Side by side they always ride, and seem to move as one..
From early in the morning light, to the setting of the sun. And children point and wave to them, from cars that pass them by..And young ones ask their parents, why the men have mirrors for eyes.
They ride the roads, and fight for good, and defend small ones like you..They ask to ride, and do with pride, and sometimes they are few. Like men of steel, on silver wings, they sparkle in the light..Then with a roar and rumble, they ride out of our sight.
Sometimes when one has fallen, never to ride again..You can hear the others calling, like thunder on the wind. Side by side, they slowly ride, and their thunder is a mournful sound..And the mirrors hide their eyes from us, when teardrops fall to ground.
So if you see one riding, and you look into his face..You see your reflection in his eyes, you know that you are safe. For motormen are a special breed, they love to ride the wind..And when you hear the thunder boom, the fallen one rides again.
God Bless!!
