Reflections for Police Officer Tanja Brigitte King
Tanja, you are still missed and part of a funny story I often share about our talks in the morning in the shared computer lab we had then. I also share the night it happened and having to respond to the scene and later to deliver the news to your Mom and Dad. So strange how lives intersect through a job we love and meet people we never would have known. I went to DC again and got to reflect on you, George, Bob, Al, Debra and Kevin. All who paid the last measure in my tenure. As your life may have been cut short, as we can all see here, your shadow is long and your inspiration carries on. We are all HONORED to have known Officer Tanja B. King!

Seventeen years have passed, but your spirit lives in all who knew and worked with you. Working with you, though only a short time, made me appreciate your work ethic and infectious smile. The guts and toughness you showed when we endured SWAT tryouts together made us all want to be better.
Teresa and I think of you often. The world was a better place with you in it.

It's unbelievable that 16 years ago you were taken so tragically doing the thing you loved, protecting your community. Continue to watch over us and may God continue to bless your family. Forever my classmate, LAPD 8-95....WE LIKE IT, WE LOVE IT, WE WANT MORE OF IT, CLASS 8-95, HOORAH!!!

I will never forget you, or the last time we spoke just minutes before you were taken from us. We were planning a trip to go to Georgia for Eddies birthday to surprise him while he was getting rehab from being shot. You rushed off the phone to respond to an emergency call. And that was it. My heart misses you so very much.

My condolences to Tanja's parents, family, friends, and fellow colleagues. Reading all of the heartfelt reflections from Tanja's parents and fellow colleagues shows not only was she an excellent daughter, officer, and friend, but she is still missed by many. God, thru his word the bible, has provided a wonderful outlook for our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. John 5:28,29 reads "do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." Soon, the affects of death will be reversed and we can be reunited with our loved ones again. I pray that God's promise brings comfort to all who knew and loved Officer Tanja King.

Tanja,
Thinking of you again today and could not help but wonder... wondering what you might be doing today...wondering where your career would have taken you...wondering if you think of us...wondering if you know how much we still think of you.
I feel so honored to have known you and will forever cherish our friendship.
Until we meet again....Your in charge up there!!!
