Reflections for Police Officer Daryle Wayne Black

It's sad to see another good man be killed. Daryle was a good role model for kids in the area he patrolled. He was trying to make a difference in the lives of misguided youths, and he did! He showed that one man can make a difference. Let's never forget that he gave his life for a noble cause, to make others lives a little better. I know that Daryle is now resting in God's loving arms. We'll miss him, but we know that he will be watching over all his brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

I NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING OFC.DARYLE BLACK,I LEFT THE LONG BEACH POLICE DEPT.JUST BEFORE HE CAME ON.I WAS DEVISTATED WHEN I HEARD WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM AND MY OLD FRIEND OFC.RICK DELFIN.I JUST WANT THEM TO KNOW THAT EVEN THOUGH I'M 2000 MILES AWAY, MYSELF AND MY FELLOW OFFICERS PAIN FOR WHAT DARYLE AND HIS PARTNER WENT THROUGH. THIS EVENT SHOULD NOT OF TAKEN PLACE,BUT IT DID AND BECAUSE OF IT A LOT OF LIVES WILL BE FOREVER DIFFERENT AND LACKING, TO THOSE I SAY, DARYLE IS WITH YOU,AND WITH ME,ITS JUST IN A WAY WE CANNOT SEE-WE'RE NOT SUPPOSE TO. SOME GOOD WILL COME OUT OF THIS SOME DAY,WHAT OR WHEN I DON'T KNOW,BUT IT WILL,AND IT WILL BE AS GREAT AS THE SACRIFICE THAT DARYLE AND RICK MADE FOR US.

THANK YOU DARYLE

THANK YOU RICK

I was a law-enforcement officer for 10 years until events beyond my control took me away from that. People ask me what I miss most about it and I could never really answer that until recently. Officer Black's funeral was up here in Grand Rapids Mi.

To see everyone come together and celebrate his life and his good deeds was awe inspiring. Now I know what I miss most about being in law-enforcement, the comradere and the brotherhood. God bless you Darryl.

If you don't think we are in a struggle of good vs. evil in this world, think again.  Pure evil is what took Officer Black.  May we strive to be better officers and people, and light the way for the good people of this nation.  May we work hard to correct the evil in this country and bring our enemies to justice.

God bless officer Black and others who have given their lives for a just cause.  They are heroes in every sense of the word, just as we have heroes at Guadalcanal, Omaha Beach, and so many other battles.  May we carry on in their memory and never forget what side we are on.

The testimonies given by people who knew him painted a picture of a man whos heart was in his work and the people he came in contact with on the job.  All officers should strive to fill his shoes.  Praise God he knew the Savior!

I met Daryle when he first came to work at the Central Men's Jail in Orange County. Both of us had been in the Marine Corps so we had an immediate common bond. I never saw anyone eat like this guy. He worked out hard and he just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger. He was a giant and when it hit the fan, there was no one that you would rather have had by your side.

I was a Long Beach Police Explorer while Officer Black was on the force. I had the great opprotunity to go on many ride alongs with Officer Black. He was not only a great officer, but a great human being. I will always remember him. Because of him, I now have realized my dream of being a Long Beach Police Officer.
God Bless You Daryle
