The 16 year old kid who killed you should be lucky to be alive, let alone free
Had he been a few years older he would have found himself strapped to a gurney before the DP was abolished in Illinois. He may be in his 60s today but you would be in your late 70s. I hope you can somehow forgive him for the atrocity he committed against you and your family.

OFFICER BARRON,
I HAD OCCASION TO MEET YOUR PARTNER DAN ABATE AT
YOUR MURDERER'S PAROLE HEARING. IT WAS A SHOCK TO HEAR ALL THE VOTES TO RELEASE HIM. I STILL CANT BELIEVE THEY LET HIM GO. YOUR PARTNER DAN IS STILL VERY SHAKEN ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU. WE HAD A CHANCE TO TALK TO EACH OTHER AND ALL I COULD SAY WAS SORRY. HE TOLD ME "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS?" I HAD NO ANSWER FOR HIM. HE IS A VERY NICE GUY! TO THE PAROLE BOARD I SAY YOU MADE THE WRONG DECISION AND 25 JUN 2015 WILL FOREVER BE ETCHED IN MY MIND AS THE DAY I FOUND OUT JUST HOW MUCH THE PRISONER REVIEW BOARD THINKS OF ITS CITIZENS AND CODDLES HUMAN GARBAGE! TO DAN ABATE I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT IT WAS GREAT TO MEET YOU BUT I WISHED IT WAS AT ANOTHER VENUE! GOD BLESS THE BARRON FAMILY! IM SORRY THE BOARD LET YOU DOWN!

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 40th anniversary year of your death.
Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.
Thanks to all who continue to soldier on and speak out against any parole for this cop killer. It is amazing to me that a tie vote took place as it is unfathomable to me how anyone would think he is deserving of parole, especially in an area where crime is so rampant. I will never understand the mentality of those who advocate for cop killers over cops. Never, never!

PAROLE WAS DENIED FOR THE MURDERER OF OFF. BARRON ON 27 JUN 13. IT SEEMS UNREAL THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL FIGHTING FOR THIS KILLERS RELEASE. THE BOARD'S VOTE WAS TIED AND A TIE IN THE VOTE KEEPS HIM IN FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR! THIS FIGHT IS NOT OVER THOUGH AND I AND OTHERS WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP FIGHTING TO KEEP HIM WHERE HE BELONGS! GOD BLESS OFFICER BARRON AND HIS FAMILY

Please know that Ed Barron is not forgotten. I will state my case against granting of parole for the miscreant that took Ed away from us on 28 Sep 1973.This will take place on 19 Jun 2013 a member of the prison review board will be present at the Criminal Court building in Chicago to hear that statement. May Officer Ed Barron rest in peace and his family gain some solace in knowing that Ed was loved by all who knew him, and has not been out of our thoughts and prayers since that fateful day. Ed did everything he could to protect victims he didn't even know. He was and will always be a true and honorable hero.

I HOPE THIS REFLECTION FINDS YOU WELL. MY MOM'S FIRST HUSBAND WORKED IN 004 AND WAS KILLED IN 1968. THE LOSS OF A FATHER/HUSBAND/BROTHER IS NEVER AN EASY THING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH AS YOU KNOW. THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EASE THE PAIN,BUT MAYBE,JUST MAYBE, A KIND WORD MAY HELP A LITTLE. YOUR LOSS AND PAIN HAVE NOT FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. IT IS A FULL BLOWN QUEST TO KEEP YOUR KILLER AND OTHERS LIKE HIM BEHIND BARS WHERE THEY BELONG. IT IS TIME THAT THE PAROLE BOARD ACKNOWLEDGE THE JOB YOU DID THAT DAY AND THE FACT THAT YOU DIDNT HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU DID BUT YOU WERE A COP AND THAT IS WHAT COPS DO, CATCH BAD PEOPLE! MY THINKING IS SIMPLE, YOU KILL A COP,YOU GO TO JAIL,YOU DON'T GET OUT!!!! GOD BLESS OFFICER BARRON AND FAMILY!!!!!!

Although I was only 12....I remember this day like yesterday. We, our family, were on our way home, listening to AM radio when it was announced that Edward Barron was shot and killed. As I recall my dad had taken off work for whatever reason. Officer Barron took my dads spot that day and partnered with Danny Abate. To bear witness to this tragedy, was like loosing my own father.
may God bless you and your family for eternity
may we all be relieved of this pain once and for all!

Eddie,
I was just a rookie at the time. It has been 38 years, I will never forget the day you were taken away from us. Pat Ryan and I had just finished talking with you and your partner Danny when the awful call came a few minutes later. I have never forgotten.

Although I was only 8 years old when this happened, I clearly remember seeing my dad on the news crying in the emergency room after this unfolded. I also remember Eddie carrying a refrigerator on his back down our stairs when helping us move. I am sure that all the other officers that were there that day will never forget.....

I was only 3yrs when my uncle was killed, and let me tell every one that time stood still on that day. Close to me my father John to this very day has literally never gotten over or moved on from his best friends death. Growing up i remember asking about what happened, and also reading the hand scribed placard atached to the grand father clock that my father had ordered and put together for uncle Eddie. The placard is of a old song and the begining goes (SOMEONE KILLED A POLICEMAN TODAY AND HALF OF AMERICA DIED A PIECE OF HIS COUNTRY HE SWORE TO PROTECT WILL BE BURIED WITH HIM AT HIS SIDE, THE SUSPECT WHO SHOT HIM WILL STAND UP IN COURT WITH COUNCIL DEMANDING HIS RIGHTS, WHILE A YOUNG WIDOWED MOTHER MUST WORK FOR THE KIDS AND SPEND MANY LONLY NIGHTS, HE ANSWERED THE CALL GAVE OF HISELF ALL AND HALF OF AMERICA DIED) THERES MORE TO IT BUT ANYWAY) His young son Paul Barron has turned out to be an alcoholic of the worst king, filled with HEART BREAK,LONELYNESS FOR A FATHER, AND THE DARKEST HOLE OF HATRED FOR LIFE, THIS ONCE YOUNG BOY HAS GROWN UP A TORMENTED AND DISTURBED MIDDLE AGED MAN. THANK YOU ALL AND MAY THE HAND OF GOD HOLD YOU ALL AND PROTECT ALL FROM ALL HARM AND EVIL.... Eric Barron hardcharger 9834@ yahoo.com

DEAR OFFICER BARRON, YOU WERE KILLED WHEN I WAS 4 YRS OLD. I HOPE THAT YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE TRYING VERY HARD TO KEEP THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEATH IN PRISON. THE BUS RIDE DOWN TO SPRINGFIELD WAS MY FIRST BUT WONT BE MY LAST! BECAUSE OF YOU,
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I HAVE MET SOME AMAZING COPS ON THE FIRST TRIP AND WE ARE ALL EQUALLY DOING OUR PART TO KEEP THAT ANIMAL WERE HE SHOULD BE.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY SIR AND I HOPE TO MEET YOU SOMEDAY IN A BETTER PLACE.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
