On the anniversary of your death, I salute your for your service and honor you for your sacrifice.
A hero never dies....
Rest in peace, hero. And Copper too...
November 16, 2004
Five years ago today
Deputy Sheriff James R. Kenney
and his patrol canine Copper
lost their lives in the service
of their country and community.
Their tragic loss is constant
reminder of the violence law enforcements officers face each
and every day. All of our shifts today are dedicated to the memory
of these two heros. They will never be forgotten.

In loving memory of D.S. Kenney:
It has been 5 years and we still
fondly remember your dedication to
your job. We fondly remember Copper, too. I hope justice was
served. This is tragic.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.
Today, November 16, 2003 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Deputy James R. Kenney who died on this date four years ago.
When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.
Deputy Kenney's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Jim, you and copper will be and are in our memories forever. You taught me so much about life and law enforcement. You were my hero both in sports and as a law officer. I wish that all future officers could have trained with you. Rest easy and know you will be remembered by all true Americans.
