Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Eric Andrew Thach
I was an explorer with Riverside County Sheriff's Dept at the time you were shot. I never met you, as you worked at a different station, but we may have passed in a hallway when you were assigned to Southwest Jail. I remember being in the area at the time you were shot and seeing the brush fires, but did not know there was an OIS. Everytime I drive down the freeway in Sun City, Menifee, and Murrieta, on the stretch of highway that is dedicated to you, I remember the things we work for and the dangers we face everytime we leave our house and report to work.
God Bless and watch over the rest of us.

I was a Volunteer for the Riverside County Sheriff's Dept. when Eric was shot. I did not have the pleasure of knowing him but I did know other deputies who did. He will allways be missed. My heart goes out to his family.

I came upon this site from an officer that posted a response on nleomf. This is my first time here.
It is comforting to know that so many people care so much. I was Eric's sister. We were 2 1/2 years apart and were very close. I was 5 months pregnant with my first child when Eric was killed. I now have a girl who is strong as ever, I believe because of what I went through while pregnant. I also have a boy who is named Andrew after Eric's middle name.
My mom is close by and has been strong through it all. I don't know how she does it. I know that when she spends time with my kids she thinks back to times and memories of Eric and I when we were little.
Thank you all for all your thoughts and support. It has been difficult, but these websites make it a little better.

Mr. Rodarte was one of my high school teachers as well. Eric liked him very much.

In loving memory of D.S. Eric Thach:
I wish I could think of something to say to comfort you, but realize this is a God size task. He is the Healer and Redeemer.
I pray that He holds you in the palm of His hand and supplies all your needs in Christ Jesus. He loves you so very, very much and He feels your sorrow as much as you do. May His presence be very real to all of you in your season of grief. God bless. Thank you Eric for your 3 dedicated years of faithful service!

Eric Thach was my student in High School. I am very proud of this young man and I hope and pray that his killers will be bought to justice, my prayers are with his family.

Though I never met you personally, I believe I still had a sense of the man and officer you were. That's because I had the honor of having your father and his lovely wife as my neighbors. It is through them that I came to know you and gain a greater understanding and appreciation of our men and women in uniform. God bless you and all those with whom you served.

Eric,
Although I did'nt know you, you're with me every day. Three years have gone by, since you passed away.
You answered the call, and gave us your all, and part of America died that day.
Your Memorial was the first I attended, and unfortunately not the last.
I wish I could have known you, before you passed...
Your memory is alive in my heart. Rest in peace brother.
I will never forget.
