Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Eric Andrew Thach

This has been a whirlwind of a week Eric. Diana and I spent 4 days visiting and reminiscing with family, friends and co-workers. 25 years have passed, but the fire in our hearts for you has not diminished. Your name and memory is strong in the next few generations as it should be. Always remembered Brother.

today marks the 25th year that you have not physically been here, but don't for one second think that you are not remembered. The sacrifice you made on that fateful day will live with your family and friends forever. On a personal note, you were the first Deputy Killed after Mike And his partner Jim. I remember it well and I will never forget.
I like to read Suzanna's messages. she misses you so much.
Rest in peace

I think of you every single day. My heart still feels the pain of losing you 25 years ago today.
Life has never been the same since that awful day. You and me were peas in a pod. I lost by best friend, my confidant, my hero, my play bud, my savior. You were the most important male figure in my life. I needed you so much to walk this path of life with me.
I so much wanted to have you taxidermied so that I could always see and talk to you. So I could have you all to myself.
I love you so much, my bud.
You are in my heart always. I love you.

Hey My Bud,
I can't believe another year older you would be. I bet you would be a lady killer. You always were a very handsome guy and I was always was proud to be next to you. I love you so much and really wish I could talk to you about things like we used to. Until we see each other again I will always hold you close and dear to my heart. ❤️

Eric, many of us were blessed with 24 years that you were denied. I do not take that for granted. There isn't a day that I don't reminisce about what had occurred. On our recent trip to Spain, in a small medieval town, we randomly met the man who made your memorial sign in Temecula on the 215 Fwy. 23 years ago. We talked as if we were best of friends, never having known each other. Your reach is far and timeless. The possibilities of that meeting and conversation were beyond impossible. Thank you for keeping a watchful eye over us, Brother.

David and I will be toasting to you as always on that day and time. Never forgotten.

RIP Deputy Sheriff Eric Andrew Thach,

Thank you for your service and all the good you have done. You are still so very much loved and remembered. Although I did not know you personally, reading through everyone’s loving and grateful messages makes it feel like I do especially, through your loving sister—Suzanna’s—messages and greetings.

May you rest in peace with our Lord, Father God, Almighty forever and ever, Amen.

I came across this site after getting a notification of the anniversary of Eric's death. I was one of the nurses in the ER the day he was shot. I have never forgotten him and his service. My prayers to the family.

Merry Christmas my HERO! I hold you very deep in my heart. I always have and I always will. You will never be forgotten or your memories pushed aside. You live on in every one's lives you touched, helped, and were there for everyone always putting anything you had to do aside to listen, help, and just even your presence was comforting. you had a gift. My gift was sharing my days growing up with you and working together. So many wonderful memories. I love you and YOU will always be my HERO.

Love,
Suzanna

On the eve of my birthday I think of you and how you would share that with me.
I'm not doing Christmas everything blue and white this year. This is the year I am going to try not and mourn you but celebrate you. I will forever miss you and you will always be in my heart and my memories until I get dementia. Let's hope not. We have good Gene's. I love you always.
