Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Inspector Joyce Anne Carnegie

Joyce, a message to let you know that you have not been forgotten. The seas these days are anything but calm and in some places the waters are downright angry. Bravery in the face of evil is what you exhibited on that fateful day and you will always be remembered for your courage and the ultimate sacrifice a law enforcement officer can make.

Joyce,

Another year has gone by, 24 " Your picture is hanging on the wall in the main hallway at HQ and a lot of the time I'll wink, I'll tap it to say hello. The other day I was thinking of you as all of us do in the beginning of April, I was walking up to your picture and caught my own reflection in it and realized how my reflection has aged in the last 24 years and you are forever young in that picture. You were the oldest of us all at the time and looking at the picture now, 24" years later, you were so young lose your life. I'm so sorry you didn't get to age with the rest of us Joyce. You are never forgotten !

Joyce, Once more as we hear of the passing of a Police Officer I shed a tear for your short life. I worked with you at Sears and I always admired you. Glad you did get to have your dream job even if it was only for a few years. Peace be to you. Karen

Inspector Joyce Carnegie, 21 years later I still wish I was able to meet you. I love hearing the stories about you from my dad when you guys worked together at OPD. I just got on with a sheriffs office in ga where we live now. Not only am I doing this because of my dad I’m doing this because of you. for as long as I possibly can I’m going to Carry my head high wearing this shield on my chest knowing you are looking down on me. That day when you got off work you were supposed to come over and meet me, my dad tells me how excited you were about it but sadly you never ended your tour that day. As I walk the blue line, I will always have you in the back of my mind that you are watching over me. Rest easy Joyce.
