Reflections for Captain Robbie Edward Bishop
It's now May 2006; Just wanted to let you know that we're still kicking criminal butts. We've trained more than 5,000 interdiction officers nationwide since your death who combined have seized more than $45 million in illegal drug money and untold millions in drugs.
Robbie, even today you still motivate me and hundreds more. There isn't a day that goes by that you don't cross my mind. Partner, you were the match that lit the fuse. Not only for me, but for hundreds more. You had more of an impact on law enforcement than anyone I know or have ever known. We sure had some fun didn't we?
RIP - Miss you brother, Eddie Ingram

Rest in Peace Brother Bishop. Please watch over us as we face the threat and use the tactics you have passed on to us. You, your family, and all those close to you are always in our thoughts and prayers.
You will never be forgotten. You have set a high standard for all of us to work towards.

Robbie, unfortunately I never had the opportunity to meet you. I want you to know that I've learned so much from you. You will always be my inspiration for the work that I do. I only hope that I can live up to a small fraction of your legacy. Know that you are not and never will be forgotten. The organization that was founded in your honor has grown so large. You should be so proud of those that have continued the pursuit in your absence. Continue to watch over us and I promise we won't let you down.

Capt.Bishop, words cannot alone express the grief and pain that we felt, when you left us on that sad day, but rest, assuredly know this, you set the tone for so many law enforcement officers, and they have prevailed in many situations because you taught by example. you are missed by the residents of cedartown, georgia, and all its law men and women, past and present, they are familiar with you. thank you for all you have done for us!.may God keep you forever, and may he watch vigilantly over your wonderful family!...

I just wanted to convey my deepest sympathy to Captain Bishop's wife, family and friends for their loss. I used to watch Cops and all of those types of shows because my youngest brother was a SC State Trooper, but since his death May 16, 2005, I haven't been able to do so. I turned to a channel that had a program on showing Captain Bishop and it broke my heart since, I know just how hard it is to deal with the loss of a family member! I salute Captain Bishop! God Speed.

Capt. Bishop,
I am currently ending my second year in the law enforcement field, and I have been lucky enough to become involved with my offices highway drug interdiction unit. I recently attended an interdiction seminar put on by the MCTFT, and my instructors could not stop talking about you, and your accomplishments. They both spoke very highly of the incredible amount of narcotics and dirty currency that you removed from our streets through your expertise, instincts & dedication. My only regret is that I cannot tell you in person, that after hearing and reading about your decorated career, how grateful I am that an officer like you has taught myself and many others so much. May god bless your family and protect all of us who are still fighting. PO255

Robbie: You're missed and loved by so many.
What a blessing your life on earth was to all (except the bad guys) who knew you!
Yesterday I was thinking of you but I wasn't able to get to a computer.
The war against drugs continues, my friend.

Robbie,
You are missed but not forgotten.
We will not forget all that you sacrificed in doing the job and passing along knowledge to others so we may continue the fight. We will not forget the unselfish sacrifice that your family (Lisa, Cody, and Lauren) has made in supporting you in the performance of your duty.
Rest easy and be with us in spirit as your family and friends continue the fight.

I never had the opportunity to know Robbie Bishop until attending a Narcotics Interdiction School here in CT in 2005. Our instructor; retired FHP Trooper spoke highly of Capt. Bishop and prompted me to learn more about this icon in law enforcement. Capt. Bishop's loyalty to this profession and his department are a testimonial to the type of person Robbie was. I attend the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial every year and intend to pay Capt. Bishop the respect deserved on my next trip. My blessings to Capt. Bishop's co-workers at Villa Rica PD and family. God bless you all.

Capt. Bishop was and still is an inspiration for every drug arrest I make. I admire him for the officer that he was and how he wanted all officers to be better at drug interdiction. He is missed by all his brothers and sisters inside the thin blue line. Let's all be carefull out there and remember Capt. Bishops greatest sacrifice. We will meet one day my BROTHER. God bless, Officer Robby Raines, Pickens City P.D.

Robbie, we are all still thinking of you. Maybe me more than most right now. I think you were out there with me on Saturday. I was able to stand my ground and shoot straight. Some think I'm a hero but I think I had help. You are still my hero. See you out there buddy.

Although I did not know Robbie well, he continues to influence my life and the life of my children. My children still speak fondly of Robbie and his family. A little bird given to my children by a family member sits on my mantle to this day as a reminder of a powerful influence.
I now have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and would like to let Robbie's family know that his death was an influence in my decision to obtain my degree and enter the field of law enforcement.
