Reflections for Police Officer III Brian Ernest Fenimore Brown
I PERSONALLY GOT TO MEET OFFICER BROWN ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO, WHEN I WAS A TROUBLED KID LIVING THE STREETS OF GANG WARFARE, NOT KNOWING WHERE I WOULD WIND UP. AFTER MEETING OFFICER BROWN, HE ENCOURAGED ME TO DO SOMETHING IN MY LIFE, AND SURE ENOUGH I DID. AT 17 I ENLISTED IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS. NOW AS I LOOK BACK IT ONLY SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY THAT I HAD THAT ENCOURAGEING CONVERSATION WITH OFFICER BROWN. WHILE I WENT THROUGH BOOT CAMP, MY SENIOR D.I. SPOKE OF OFFICER BROWN OF HOW MUCH A HERO HE WAS IN MOGIDISHA SOMALIA. OFFICER BROWNS HEROISM IS WELL KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE MARINE CORPS, AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. BRIAN, MAY GOD LOOK UPON YOUR FAMILY AND KEEP THEM SAFE. THANK YOU FOR CHANGING MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.
SEMPER FI,
CPL. ANTHONY A. OLIVER,
UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.

It has been almost 4 years since the day Officer Brown was taken from his LAPD family and from his little boy. I remember watching his son and the strength he carried as he laid his father to rest. That little 7 year old must now be a handsome young man as his father continues to live through the life of his young son. How proud he must be to know that his father was a hero to the city of Los Angeles. God Bless Officer Brown and his son. Please continue to watch over your little boy and your entire LAPD family as we will continue to always remember you and your dedication in serving LAPD.
WIFE OF LAPD OFFICER
