Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

It is unbelievable that you were murdered 25 years ago. We still gather on September 29 to tell stories and just remember what an amazing guy you were…shed a few tears, lots of hugs, and support each other. We miss you every day and imagine what life would be like if you were still here! Watch for Travis, as he will be looking for you today. Kristie and Pop gave him a bath a couple weeks ago and he loved it. He has missed your touch and love for 25 years too. He laid down this morning for the first time in months but couldn't get back up. His legs were too weak and his body was too tired. He gave up this morning and headed for his heavenly home with you. We all miss you so much and know we will see you again!

My father retired out of Harris County PCT 1 in 2013, when I started in Law Enforcement in 2015 he told me about you, and what he learned about what happened that night. He still thinks about you a lot, you were part of his family in blue. You are missed greatly by many people.

I was working at the tattoo shop down the road when I met officer Mike. He was a good man with a good heart. He would stop in and we would talk and laugh. He loved his job and spoke of his family often. It was a horrible act and still sits with me all these years later. You know you were a great man and a good cop when you left such an impression on so many people. We may not have known each other long, but you are missed. Till we meet again my friend.

I made this scene the night it happened, I remember thinking how does one tell a mother or father that their son who was fighting the good fight was taken by a heartless coward such as your killer. I knew you uncle who worked northeast in HPD, I also remember your mom from Grantham Middle school. I didn't know all of this while out on the scene, but days and weeks later it all came about. I grew up in that side of town, and I often pass the spot where it all happened, I always reflect to your sacrifice, and your families loss. I pray your family has found peace and happiness, and I know GOD has his arms around you in heaven. RIP brother.

It's hard to even know where to start. It's been almost 17 years since you gained wings and went to be with the Lord. You are in my thoughts each day and are talked about so often by this family, friends and sometimes strangers. This past week has been so hard after hearing about Sheriff Deputy Goforth's murder. It has weighed on me so heavily thinking back to your death. I know you welcomed him to heaven with open arms and now have another blue angel to keep you company. Michelle and Ryan's little one is 4 years old and she brings so much joy to mom and dad!!!! I know you see it all but I still wish I could see you smile and laugh! It's hard to believe you've been gone from this earth for so long. I'm 30 years old and this is my 7th year to teach. I've really learned so much about kids and can totally understand how mom came to love you so much!!!So thankful that she was your teacher at Grantham Middle School and that she brought you home to us so that you could be part of our family!!!! I miss you so but I feel blessed to have had you in my life for time we had you here. Keep looking over your fellow officers. I'm looking forward to the day that we meet again. Rest easy....
