I remember the day this took place. I was in Sheboygan in a restaurant with a friend and a scanner, and I heard the whole thing. It really shocked me. I did not know him personally, only from a friend of mine that always got in trouble, Dale had numerous contacts with him , and Dale would always be looking for my friend at my Dad & Ma's house. Once Dale used my parents phone to call to the station. I still have the old phone. It is a memory. I went to the wake service to pay my respect, because Dale was a very understanding officer, and I did feel real bad. It was a horrible event, and I think of this a lot.

I can't believe it has been 15 years ago today Dale. I still remember getting the call that forever changed me. We all knew the dangers of the job and I knew it could happen to me, but (as silly as it sounds) I never thought about it happening to someone I knew. I still think about the days when you would work Kohler and I would meet you at the city limits to talk; how we had backed each other up a few times; the training in Green Bay.............You were always happy......always positive......always smiling. The beat you patrol now is a far better place and I know I will see you again one day. You are never forgotten and forever a hero.

Well Dale, its just me and Allan now. With mom and dad both passing its just the two of us left. You are not here with us physically but you are still in our hearts. So often things occur that remind me of you. Some times I giggle about the funny things we did. Time may heal all wounds, but will never erase the memories. I'm proud to have been your brother. We will never forget.

Dale I remember talking to you late at night when you were working security at the American Club, you had such a friendly smile. I also remember the frantic search and feeling of desperation as I worked the night of your death, scanning every vehicle for a hope of locating those that took your life. I tell your story to every class I teach at your old school, LTC. Rest in peace, we've got you back.
