Reflections for Police Officer Kevin John Fischer
Kevin Fischer was one of the best people I have ever known. I never heard anything bad being said about him, and I never heard him say anything bad about anyone. That is truly rare.
Kevin loved being a cop. He loved being in the thick of things. He loved chasing bad guys and he loved doing the right thing.
I knew Kevin as a devoted husband, a brother motorman, and a good friend. He would always be there if you needed him. He was a guy you knew you could count on. Kevin was a man all of us strive to be like. He had it all. Honor, Integrity, Pride, Courage..... We lost one of the best... May peace be upon his soul..... I miss you Kevin....

I often think about Kevin. His friendly smile, his boisterous laugh. He was a gentleman, so kind. I worked with Kevin indirectly for a few years and always took him for granted. Always thinking to myself as I walked away from him, "boy, he sure is a nice guy." I always came from the motor briefings thinking to myself, "what a great bunch of guys." There is one thing that rings true in all this... I thought these things to myself.... I never told anyone how I felt.. how much they mattered to me.... how great I thought they were. I am sorry for that. I am sorry that I never told him what a gentleman I thought he was. I am sorry I never said, "hey Kevin, you're a credit to the Department." I think of Kevin every day in one way or another. I think to myself how short life is and how, in just a split second, it can be gone. I am grateful for all Kevin taught me in life. I am also grateful for what he has taught me in death. May I never take anyone for granted again. May I always take the extra.
Your motor wings are gold..... the angels now sing...

I have known Kevin for 3 years. In those 3 years he became a very close friend. He was a man of Honor, a man of Integrity. A man of high morals, and a man with high standards. He was a man who loved to serve the people of Daytona, and was very much devoted to his career as a Law Enforcement Officer. Kevin without question or hesitation would always come to help a friend no matter what. Whether I needed something done around the house, or a Brother Officer in need of help on the job. No matter what, Kevin would always be there. Kevin loved his job and he loved his friends, and he let us all know it. But most of all, Kevin loved his wife (Kim) and he showed it. I know how great the loss of Kevin is for me. I can only imagine how great a loss it is for Kim and the rest of Kevin's family. I commend the DBPD for their efforts and assistance to Kim. I too, will no matter what help in anyway I can.
GOD BLESS YOU KEVIN - YOU WILL BE MISSED - BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN !

I will never forget the sound of that wonderful laugh echoing throughout the halls. My days will be a little less bright without the sight of his great, ever-present smile and cheerful words. Kevin will be missed by many. Our lives were touched by him in a variety of ways but I think all were positive. We will keep Kevin's memory alive and continue to do the things that meant the most to him. Rest in peace, Kevin. We miss you greatly!

This is one of the finest men I have ever known, god bless
him and may he rest in peace. If I may quote Kevin's partner at his funeral, "The only reason I can find for Kevin's death is God needed a good cop in heaven". Ahmen

Kevin,
There are no words to comfort those who loved you so dearly, for those who called you Friend. I remember starting at DBPD as a part-timer, and together we rode for months side by side on the bicycle unit. Hired full-time together, and again worked side by side for several more months. You were always there when you heard one of your fellow officers calling for someone, and even when they didn't. Your N.Y. accent will forever ring through my ears, and your smile shine in my eyes.
An angel on my shoulder each day I dress for work, an angel for all who walk the same road you once walked in your boots,(that candy bar shine). So many memories embedded in our hearts, and minds, you will be missed by all.
We Love You................

I only had a brief few minutes with Kevin, I met him at the hospital when he was investigating a terrible accident involving two our officers. Needless to say it was total confusion at that time. But I pulled Kevin aside and started asking questions, he did not know me nor did he really have time to deal with me. He had so many people asking questions, but he took the time and answered all the questions. His last comment to me was, all we want to know his the Sheriff's Office guys are ok. He was genuinely concerned. Those few minutes with him and I knew right away he was a caring, sensitive and kind individual. But Kevin didn't stop there, he visited those officers several times in the hospital just to check on them. He called them when they returned home to see how they were. He didn't know these officers, he was a very caring person. He taught me something that day very valuable that will stay with me forever. I won't share it here, but it was a lesson well learned. Thank you Kevin for touch
Thank you Kevin for touching so many of us in so many ways if even for a brief few minutes. You left me with a reminder to not judge all the same...Thank You for all you contributed to the lives of those who loved you and those who knew you only briefly...
You will be missed by many, you also brought healing to some of us.
I know you are in God's arms and are safe....Louana

Everything about Kevin was memorable. He was the sweetest and friendliest person you could ever meet. My fondest memory of him is just watching him stand tall and swing that motorcycle helmet around in the air while walking through the PD. That loud happy boistrous voice will be heard forever. He will always be part of us.
