Sgt Kincaid was featured in a BBC documentary programme about the death sentence. This provided a very short window into a famliy ripped apart in a thoughtless moment. The part that will stay with me for a long time is the strength of his two daughters and their continued sense of loss. The strenth and dignity that these young women showed was incredible and I wish them every success in their lives as they continue to grow into themselves.

Just finished watching a tv programme concerning Sgt Kincaids murder. I was struck by the dignity displayed by Sgt Kincaids family in particular his two daughters. It is a fine tsetimony to their parents how they hold themselves and continue to live with such a tremendous loss. My heart aches for their situation. Their pain is visible and the way they wrestle with the whole situation moved me to tears.May you find peace, all 3 of you, and a way to continue as you have done so very very impressively.God bless you.

I knew Kent from his days as a Witchita Police Officer prior to moving to Houston.
We shared good times in Kansas and a few in Houston during a few business trips I made there in later years.Kent was one of the kindest friends I ever knew.
I did many ride alongs with the WPD in those Kansas years and have many fond memories with Ken and my good friend Lt. Don Deckert (Retired).
I wish his Family the best of everything.

For those who never knew him, let me assure you that Kent was, above all else, a NICE GUY and a GREAT FRIEND. Long talks with him at the Westside Command convinced me that no better a man ever wore the blue, and no greater loss was ever suffered. The Kingdom of God was built for people like that, and Kent is there now. I so testify with all my strength,in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Uncle Kent,
I can't believe it will be 15 years tomorrow. I'm proud to say that I've been able to share memories of you with Jena over the years. Thank you for being in our lives. Thank you for teaching me that you can be patient, kind, caring AND a tough guy at the same time. You truly do live on in everyone who ever met you.

Dear Kent,
I'll never forget May 23, 1998 when I lost a great friend who was like a brother to me. I worked with you in Wichita on the W.P.D. for several years and think often of the good times we had together and still remember the day you told me you were going to quit the Wichita Police Department and move to Houston with Nancy.
I attended your funeral and have visited your grave many times remembering of all the fun that we had in the past. Every time I see a Karate figure I think of your grave marker. I know how much you loved Nancy and your two girls.
Rest in Peace my friend.

I saw this post on a Wichita Police Dept update where Sgt Kincaid worked with me prior to Houston. I understand the killers appeals have been denied and he will take his last breath tomorrow. RIP Sgt Kincaid!!

I stumbled across Sgt. Kincaid's memorial page a few sleepless nights ago and I felt like it spoke to me. Sgt. Kincaid was my dad's age and my father's life was taken away from him on the Houston roadways 4 years after Sgt. Kincaid's due to the senseless act of another person. Ironically enough there was an article in the Houston Chronicle this morning about Sgt. Kincaid's killer, how he will be seeking life in prison in-lieu of the death penalty because he is "good person". I will be following this case closely and I hope that justice is served. May God bless your Soul. You are gone but don't forgotten. My thought's and Prayers go out to your wife and daughters. I'm sure you're proud of them.

I remember when this happened so vividly. I was Kent and Nancy's neighbor in Copperfield before this happened. When I heard, I was in shock that this happened in our neighborhood, to someone I knew and admired. For over 10 years I've followed where the case was, and when punishment would be finalized. As that date nears, it allows me to think about how fragile life is, and what is important in this world.
Thoughts and prayers to Nancy and the girls, especially over the next couple of months.

I live in Stockton, Kent's hometown. Last night I was at the ball field to watch my great-niece play. She asked me how Kincaid Field got its name. I told her it was in honor of Kent, who was a classmate of mine. I remember he loved playing baseball and took great care of his cars.
When we were freshmen, Kent and I decided that we would talk in together at our graduation. Four years later when we had to let our senior sponsor know who we would like to be paired up with for graduation, I was told by the teacher that Kent had already signed us up.
He was a good friend. I keep the blue ribbon on my car in memory of him.

Sgt. Kincaid,
I had the honor of walking in the 2008 COPS WALK with your girls...I should say young ladies. For now, even though they will always be your little girls...they are mature young ladies who carry themselves in a manner beyond their years. I know you smile down at them everyday & you and your wife should be so proud of who they are now. Jena & Courtney, keep your heads up as it's easier to see your Daddy smiling back at you that way! Thanks for sharing your Daddy with us on Sunday and making the walk even more enjoyable. Best of luck to you both & keep making your parents proud. By the way, glad the bear didn't come out of the cave & chase you! will keep in touch!

We just got back from the 2008 COPS Walk and had the opportunity to meet your wonderful daughters. They are amazing girls and they think the world of you. You sound like you were an amazing person and everyone would have loved the opportunity to know you. My brother-n-law was an officer killed in the line of duty as well may you both take good care of each other. God Speed........

Dear Sgt Kincaid,
It is so strange how life happens. I knew you over 20 years ago in Houston. You pulled me over to give me a ticket and let me go when I told you I was a single Mother with no money. I later saw you outside of my building in downtown Houston placing a scroungy dog into the back seat of your patrol car. I stopped and asked you what you were doing and you said "this dog's owner will probably be in detox overnight so I"m going to take him through the drive thru at McDonalds and buy him a burger so he won't be hungry-his owner will be out tomorrow". I'd never met a policeman like you. Occasionally we would chat as I was leaving work and you talked about your Wife and expecting your first child, you were so proud of them. Recently my Daughter, who is now 25, starting dating a Sheriff Deputy and it made me think about you and I wondered how you were. When I looked up your name, I was shocked and saddened to hear of your death. My prayers go out to your family, and I am so sorry that I didn't know -I never forgot about you and that dog. It is hard to hide kindness like that.
