Rest in peace brother Casey. We honor you on this remembrance of your final end of watch 18 year ago today. Having worked over 20 years inside the Constantine Wire myself I realize the amount of courage and dedication to duty it takes to walk through that entrance grill each day. Due to this determination and dedication to duty you paid the ultimate price for the rest of us to be able to sleep comfortable knowing that dedicated people like you were willing to place their lives in harms way guarding those people who if not detained would otherwise bring harm to us all. Thank you my friend and may your Heavenly rewards be great.

This was before my time, but I have heard nothing but good things about him. But this incident stayed on my mind every time I searched an inmate in intake. Always SEARCH! Even if the charge and/or his demeanor doesn't warrant it because you never know. Rest in peace brother, we got it from here!

I've had you on my heart a lot lately. It's been too long since I have been to visit you. It is still as hard today as it was way back then and I am so sorry I haven't. I know you are safe and warm and happy now and watching over all of us but I still grieve for you just like it was yesterday. After your passing, I knew I would never go into law enforcement , but here I am after 13 years. I miss you so much, Casey. Your smile, your laugh...... You were one of the best friends I ever had and I cannot wait until I get to see you again. I have forgiven Farris, because if I don't, I'll never get to see you and oh how I long for the day to finally arrive when I get that big old bear hug again. You are forever with me my friend. I see you in signs all the time. When I see a little white ford ranger or smell a specific cologne then I know you are with me. I love you and miss you so much. I'll visit soon my friend.

Thinking of Casey and his family today. I am thinking of the sacrifice Casey and his family have made for their community. I am thinking of the love his family has for him and the hurt they feel and of the magnitute of thier loss. Rest In Peace, Casey. I am so sorry your were robbed of your life.

In California, I continue to fight to see that the sentences of juveniles who murdered our beloved officers are not modified by the national movement to abolish these sentences.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 11th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your friends have left such wonderful reflections for you. I can see that you were an amazing young man who had a positive impact on so many people and that you are loved and missed by so many. Your family must have been proud that you continued their legacy of protecting and serving although I know their lives were forever altered 11 years ago. All of these murders are senseless, but yours in one of the most senseless I have read about. Your family is in my heart's embrace today.

Rest In Peace, Casey. You will always be honored and revered.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

What can I say but this guy, he was awsom! This officer touched everyones lifes that he came in contact with, and even had such an impact, that others followed him in Law enforcement or in the Fireman fields. I met Casey when I first went into Law Enforcement @ West Point Police Dept under my Father, the Asst. Chief & Chief Ladd's adminstration, and when I worked for MHP in Troop G district. I remember Casey most for making you laugh, no matter what kind of day you were having, he just had one of those silly, pleasant personalities. Like someone else said on his site, he didn't just laugh, he laughed with his whole body! He was dispatching at Chickasaw SO and would "prank" call me when I was having a busy night, he would always listen to me on the scanner, and when he knew it was getting hetic, he would pick up the phone and call me, he could always make me laugh! Casey's dream was to become a Trooper with MHP, and if his life would not have been taken in the line of duty, there is no doubt I would be listening to him on the scanner now. He would have made a hell of a Trooper! The coward that took his life, it was so senseless, he was on his way out of JDC @ the time, I hope he reaps what he sowed for what he did to this fine, young officer. Casey, you show so much in your nephew, Andy's son, and you will ALWAYS hold a place in my heart, and of anyone that knew you and had the pleasure of working with you. You will always be missed by your family and freinds. I can still hear you laughing...Rest in peace, my law enforcement brother in gold and green, Rest in peace! I know you are still walking the beat!

KNEW CASEY AS A FINE YOUNG MAN AS WELL AS AN OFFICER WITH THE HEART OF A LION. CASEY'S MAIN GOAL IN LIFE WAS TO BECOME A MS. STATE TROOPER A GOAL WHICH I KNOW HE WOULD HAVE FULFILLED HAD HIS LIFE NOT BEEN CUT SHORT. MY PRAYERS BE WITH YOU

I just happened upon this page today and thought that I would leave a few thoughts about Casey as well. I am not and will never be involved in the law enforcement community ... but have a tremendous respect for the work with which they are involved. My grandfather, uncle, and my cousins all choose law enforcement as a career. I knew Casey his entire life. We are cousins through blood but were friends through choice. I am fortunate in the fact that I have so many fond memories and funny pictures of us growing up to remember him. He was definately one of a kind! I see a lot of him in his brother's children and even in my own nephew who has his talent for sound effects. I love you Casey and I miss you.
