Reflections for Deputy Kyle Wayne Dinkheller
Like many of the people that posted on your page, I to have watched the video of your shooting. Although we all knew the ending somehow we wish that it would turn out different. That maybe your bullets would have hit the mark. That another car would roll up and take that POS out. However, that was not the case. I worked solo for almost two years and performed thousands of car stops. One of the most dangerous things you can do in L.E. is a car stop. It is the ultimate unknown. I thank god every day that I survived and have been in my share of hairy situations, although nothing like yours. Rest in peace bud, you will be missed but not forgotten...

To the family and friends of Deputy Dinkheller,
We watched the video of the murder of this wonderful Deputy tonight in my Criminal Justice class. What struck me the most was Deputy Dinkheller's wanting to give the murderer the benefit of the doubt all the way up to the shooting. I am so sorry that such a young soul was taken in such a manner.
The video touched me in a way I never felt. It gave me the utmost respect for Police Officers and the type of danger they face every day. It made me feel sad (and actually cry) for Deputy Dinkheller and his family.
Please know that your story affected me greatly. I wish you family the very best. RIP Kyle.

My thoughts and prayers always with his family. I only recently viewed the video through In the Line of Duty for a CJ Class. It was horrific and tragic. God Bless all of our public servants who put their lives on the line everyday.

At the end of the day, we all bleed blue. Ones character and courage is what brought us to this special carrier. God has a plan for everyone, and you were chosen for one of the most difficult task. We all have another guardian angel looking down on us. Tears roll down my eyes as I type, cannot help it. We will never understand why only the good ones go.. Dep. Dinkheller,
I can't even put into words what I feel everytime I watch your video, sadness and anger. Knowing you put the uniform on that day not knowing what your fate would be later during your tour. We can only hope god will make that scumbag suffer when he reaches his doorstep. Your death was not in vein, and my prayers are with your family. You are not forgotten my brother. Watch over us.

Deputy Dinkheller, I am approaching the end of my law enforcement career, and by the grace of God I am still with my family. I still wear my duty gear everyday, but long gone are the days of running radar on the Interstate, responding to domestics and wrestling drunks. I've had my share of feats that most civilians would call brave and heroic. You and I know that is part of the job. I have trained both directly and indirectly hundreds of officers in my career, but you, my friend, have trained thousands. Me a hero? No, you are the hero. Rest in Peace.

To Kyle, His Widow, & kids:
I wanted you and your family to know, not only did you not die in vein, but just how much, you have taught us, and continue to teach us to be vigilant every single day of our careers. Your incident is played in officer safety seminars throughout the nation. The saddest part Kyle, is how much I know you would want to be with your wife and kids right now. I can't help but think of your tragedy since my son was also born early September '98 and he just turned 11. I sure hope Heaven is worth being away from the family. Kyle, 11 years later we still feel the pain, and I am sure every recruit that watches your video will never look at the job the same again. Thank you so much for keeping us ever so vigilant, and may God bless you, your wife, and kids, and may the Lord reunite you with your family one day, for all eternity. Thank You

Kyle,
I am currently attending police academy. While we were on Traffic Stops and approaches your video was shown to my class. What I felt that day is unexplainable. Your video changed my perspective and reminded me of why I want to be a Police Officer. You gave the ultimate sacrifice. You showed bravery, and the most important point our instructor kept stating, "Never give up". I watch your video every once in a while. I still have that same feeling. Sadness, anger are only two emotions that I can really explain feeling when I see your video. I hope you are looking down on your family and looking after them. For you are an angel, you were an angel on earth as well. Police Officers are special people. I thank you for your sacrifice, I thank you for having the courage to protect those that need protected. I know you look after all police officers and see they are protected. I hope you will do the same for me some day. You will be in my mind, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I also know every traffic stop I do in my career I will have you in mind. I just want to say again...Thank You
Rest In Peace Deputy Dinkheller

Kyle,
I watched your video in class today it was both sad and inspirational at the same time. Protecting people from those like the man who took your life is why I am going to become a police officer. The dash cam video only re-enforced it even more...
