This is why police need to be able to use deadly force when anyone acts the way this man was acting prior to getting his rifle out. There were two men in that truck, making it a lot more difficult for the officer. I'm not in law enforcement and don't know anyone who is, yet i understand that this officer needed to be allowed to shoot this man BEFORE the man got the gun out. I just wonder how the knee jerk anti-cop types cannot see what's obvious to me. Thank you to all the law enforcement who deal with these kinds of situations and risk your lives to maintain some order and safety for the rest of us. Thank you, Deputy Dinkheller. You were one brave man.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 14th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Laslater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all of those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace.

I have just seen the video. Something cold touched me in inside when I realised that those screams, were that of you dying. 22 with a young family... killed for nothing at all. I believe in justice and redemption... but I do think it was right your killer was sentenced to death with such expediency. God Bless you and yours.

Today in at a training event a room full of law enforcement viewed the tape of that traffic stop. I had seen it once before 3 years previous while training in my academy. I never wanted to see it again. I had to keep my hands clenched to view it. We watch it so some little kernel of goodness can come from your death. We watch it to better be prepared for the tasks we perform. May your family take comfort and may your soul rest in peace knowing even in death you will be helping officers and deputies all over the world.

Mr. Dinkheller,

I never met or knew you, and it almost seems pathetic to think all I can do in your memory is post on this website. Still, I read an engraving on a building at school the other day, and I thought of you.

It read "We Will Keep Faith With You Who Lie Asleep"

I'm so sorry for what happened to you and your family, I know you are watching over them today.

Deputy Dinkheller,

This evening, I have been brought to a state of sorrow, and constant thought about the events of that horrible day.

From a 19 year old in Ontario, Canada, in university with the sole intention of becoming a police officer, you will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace.

Deputy Dinkheller,

I truly believe that there isn’t a single sworn law enforcement officer in the USA who would not run through the gates of Hell itself in order to back you up that terrible day.

You will have my respect for all of my days.

Be at peace Brother; We have the watch.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT WATCHING YOUR VIDEO WHILE IN THE ACADEMY WAS ONE OF THE MOST HORRIFIC LESSONS I LEARNED, AND KNOWING THAT YOU PUT YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR SOMETHING THAT YOU LOVE AND THAT KIND OF LOVE IS WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO YOUR END AND THE COURAGE THAT YOU SHOWED, ONLY MAKE ME WANT TO BE THE BEST THAT I COULD BE IN THE FIELD AND ON THE ROAD AND HAVE THE COURAGE AND STRENGTH YOU HAD. YOU ARE GONE BUT NEVER A FORGOTTEN FELLOW OFFICER. R.I.P KYLE DENKHELLER.

Every once in a while, I come on here and see you have not been forgotten by the world. It disgusts me that Brannan would continue about filing appeals and over staying his welcome. He is no veteran to me, he lost that respect of me the day he killed you. Shot you in your back, legs just to immobilize you.. But it's been what over 14 years since then and I pray for you and your family. You were 22 and had the maturity that he should of had at his age, gave him so many chances but he did not give you a chance.. Rest in peace Deputy Dinkheller.

My heart goes out to Kyle's wife, children, and family when I saw this video. I cannot believe how many psychos there really are in this world. I plan to be a Summary Court Judge when I finish college. I was so overwhelmed when I saw this video at school. I have so much admiration for you for trying to do your job. May God Bless your soul for trying to get this sick bastard off of our roads. RIP and know that you did your job and did it well.

I remember this horryfying event like it was yesterday.

I see many young officer's on this job that have very similiar kind personalities like Kyle. I have never met Kyle but he is in my memory forever.

Officer's like Kyle risk their lives very often give the evil assailant more warnings then deserved in hope to not take a life - when the assailant is purposely trying to end the officer's life.

My heart felt sadness over this ordeal goes out to Kyle, his family and loved ones , his fellow officer's and all young officer's abroad - be on your guard at all times.

Kyle-
Nothing can describe how this video makes me feel. I have had the life long dream of wanting to be a police officer no matter the agency. When an incident like this arises it only encourages me more to fight for my goal to step up and try to help take these crazed idiots away from the general public.
Thank You for your years of service and RIP

To Deputy Dinkheller

I watched the video. I can hardly believe that really happened and I think even you didn't imagine such a thing at that time.
I am just a person who has never met you, but my heart aches for your and your family's sufferings.

Respect for your courage and rest in peace.
