Wally, I looked at you as a "Peace Officer" not a "Police Officer". People listened to you. They Loved you. I cried when we buried you and I still cry now in 2006. You are my friend. I miss you....Darrell

To the family and friends of Chief Wallace Lee Clinard , his fellow officers, and most especially to Chief Clinard:
On this the eighth anniversary of your tragic death, we honor and remember you. Rest in Peace, Chief Clinard.
On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Chief Clinard died in the line of duty. In reading the reflections, it is obvious he was well-loved by many and well-respected by his peers as reflected in the loving reflections left for him.
May his loved ones continued to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the twenty four years of distinquished service Chief Clinard gave to his community and the citizens of Tennessee, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 4, 1977.

Well it has been almost 8 years since your death, and it still hurts just as much to think about it as it did that November day. I bet you never knew how many people you touched in one way or another. I am so glad to have been shown a love and caring for law enforcement that only someone like you could have shown me. You had a rare love and caring for the people of this community that will never be duplicated or forgotten. I know that you are still very sadly missed by everyone that knew you, including myself. You were a great inspiration, leader, and most of all a true friend. Thank you for your sacrifice and you will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace.
