Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Michael Lee Hoenig
To the family and friends of Deputy Michael Hoenig, and his fellow officers with the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept:
On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Deputy Hoenig was brutally murdered eight years ago. His dedication and valor will never be forgotten.
Our family grieves with you and for you.
We share your agony as we lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg Police Dept. when he was fatally shot on April 23, 2005 during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. Larry, like Michael, was shot in the neck.
May you continue to be comforted by the caring and support of your law enforcement family, and other police survivors.
I am glad that the despicable criminal who committed this terrible act was soon apprehended, and justice served by the appropriate sentence. I hope that complete justice is rendered with the sentence actually being carried out.
This refection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Deputy Hoenig gave to his community as a law enforcement officer and to his country, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on October 30, 1997.

Dear Mike,
I think of you often.
7 years now..but still as painful. By now you know that our bud Bob is with you. I hope you guys are fishing up there together. I miss you both. Those fishing trips were the best. Watch over your buddies.
until we meet again my friend

You're missed, Mike. It was a real pleasure rolling around Lynwood as one of your sister-cars. I'm sure the fish are no safer from you in Heaven as they were on Earth.
