My dearest son Rick. These last nineteen years for mom and your stepdad have been the longest 19 years of our lives. Now on Wednesday Mr Lawler will meet his fate for taking you away from us. We want to be there in Atlanta for the hearing and execution but your moms legs are just not up to it. We love you so much and know your are looking down upon us every single day. Your beautiful sister Kim and hubby will be there and representing us too. ❤️❤️❤️

No matter the number of years that pass, you are remembered still and always will be. The maggot who stole your life and robbed Danielle of her husband will soon stand before the only judge that matters. Rest in Peace, Sowa.

Each anniversary of that horrible day renews the sting of your absence and the terrible way that you were taken from us. However, this year we have the hope of some degree of closure as they have announced the end your murderer's road. Still miss you buddy. Rest easy, your watch is covered here.

Rick....my brother and my comrade. I still think of you everyday as I open up my locker and look at your picture before I hit the streets. I often think back to the days when we were younger when I have a quiet moment in the cruiser. I am a better person and a better COP because of you . God bless you my friend for I know I will see you again!

On April 29, 2016, I had the honor of meeting Officer Sowa's Mother while picking up items for my students at a local Wal-Mart. She noticed me quickly and asked if she could give me a hug, and of course I said sure. She then told me about the situation involving her son and it left a lasting impact on me and a warmth to my heart. This man has given his life for us all, and I truly want to say thank you to him and all of his family. Mrs. Roth was such a sweet lady and was honored to meet her. God bless this man and all of the other Officers.

Good morning rick! I don't like writing but it has been awhile and I need to tell you that a police officer was killed yesterday on his motorcycle. I wrote a tribute on the page and let him know about you. Please see to it that he will be safe and you will watch over him. Jamie and I love you and miss you so much. Your sister is moving to Houston and would you believe that Angela is in love and going off to korea to meet her honey and of course your nephew is now 26 and bought a house and getting married too. Oh how we wish you were here with us. It just doesn't seem fair. Your aunts and uncles and cousins are all doing well too. Dad and I finally move to South Carolina to the beach and at seventy we are enjoying life to the fullest. We love you son and of course you have known that forever. Love Mom and Dad.
