Brother Bowe,

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Respectfully,
You’re Brothers in Blue

I grew up in New Brighton and attended high school with Cpl. Bowe's nieces. Though it wasn't until a couple years later that I was told of their relation, his death really hit home. I never had any intentions of being a police officer when I was in high school nor did I have those intentions when I started college, but five years after starting college, here I am with a BA in Law Enforcement and an officer with one year on. Last week we had an officer killed during a robbery and it made me think of Cpl. Bowe. Thank you for the sacrifice you made and for making with such honor, valor, and courage. God speed and we will continue the watch. Please keep up the watch in heaven.

Corporal Bowe:

I pray for you and the family that is left behind. As the years pass, I want you to know that you're not forgotten. I remember the day of your passing, despite being a young and ignorant college student. I have continued to grow and joined the law enforcement family. I just wanted you to know that the police family is resilient and your legacy will live on. On a daily basis, I hit the street and try to uphold what you have sacrificed for. The only promise I can make is that we will never give up and continue to fight. Rest in peace and know that you did not die in vaine. We'll take it from here brother!

I still wear the "Minnesota Hero" t-shirt that I bought when Cpl. Bowe was killed. Everytime I wear it at least one person asks me what happened to him. His memory does still live on through us all.

Not a day goes by without thoughts of your sacrifice.  You are a shining example of the tradition of excellence within the Minnesota State Patrol.  It was an act of cowardice that took you from us while assisting our brother agency on 06/07/97.  Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

Godspeed Corporal Timothy J. Bowe
