Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrol Sergeant Kenneth Eugene Snider

Ken,I always told you that you missed your true calling as a comedian. I have come to learn that you answered your true calling. Your humor was a gift that carried your brothers and sisters through the good and the bad of this profession. You are truly missed by many everyday my friend, you will never be forgotten.

It has been seven years Ken -- tonight I was thinking about you and all I could do was smile. I really miss your advise and that awsome laugh of yours. I sure do miss talking with you at the corner of 61st Street and Hydraulic.

Seven years ago today Sgt. Snider lost his life in the service of others. Our patrol shift this day is dedicated to his memory with the hope that we will be able to one day stand in the shadow of this hero.

YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE FOR ME. WHAT A GREAT BACK UP. YOU COULD BRIGHTEN THE DARKEST DAY WITH THAT KEEN SENSE OF HUMOR. MY FAVORITE MEMORY WILL ALWAYS BE WHEN YOU DONNED THE WHITE LAB SMOCK AND TOLD THE SUSPECT THAT IT WAS O.K. HE COULD " TELL DR. SNIDER ALL ABOUT IT" YOU WERE A COPS COP. I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!

You were always my friend, no matter what. It didn't matter what the climate was or what list I was on. You were always my friend. You always cheered me up and made me laugh no matter how bad things were. Even after four years, I miss you terribly.

IT HAS BEEN OVER 3 YEARS NOW.  IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY THAT THE "SNAAZ" BROKE IN THIS GREEN ROOKIE.  I NEVER QUIT THINKING ABOUT YOU, AND MISS THAT SENSE OF HUMOR THAT COULD BRIGHTEN THE DARKEST DAY.

Ken was one of the finest people I ever knew, his sense of humor and his ability to rise above the challenges of the moment were welcome. We have lost too many friends here at Sedgwick County, I hope Ken will be the last for a very long time.
