Reflections for Senior Officer Specialist Scott James Williams

Scott,
It has been almost 11 years and your murderer has not been brought to justice yet. I pray that it happens soon so your beloved family has closure. Once again, we will have correctional workers week this May. You will be remembered. I visited Lompoc recently and they made a beautiful park in your honor in the staff housing area across the street from the training center we spent so much time at for training. I still remember that day as what I saw and experienced then and since then has not gone away. Always know you will be remembered and honored. May god blesss your family and keep them safe.

I never met you personally, but over the years I have worked with several of your "road dawgs" from Lompoc. You were respected and loved and still painfully missed by your friends. It has now been more than 10yrs and no justice has come, but "Vengence is mine sayeth the Lord".

I didn't know you personally, but did work with one of you buddies at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City. I remember the day very well even though it's been 10 years, and to my knowledge no one has been prosecuted for your death. Even if nothing is done, the Man upstairs will have something to say about it. To all my other Brothers, stay safe and watch each others back

I never meet you, though I feel like I have known you for years. I worked with Mike Doyle at FCI Pekin and during ART, he can not relive that tragic day without tears filling his eyes and stoping to catch his breath. You have made such an impact on all of us in the BOP.

Brother Scott,
It has been several years since that terrible night. I remember too well what I saw that night....I will never forget it...Know that when I was asked to clean up the scene, I did it with the utmost respect. I been to the wall in Wafhington recently and visited with you for awhile. I have your arm band we all had made on the wall in my study. I relate stories about all the things we did at "the new rock". Some funny and some not so funny....But as Shakespear once said "we few...we happy few....we band of brothers" Rest in peace Scott and I pray you and your family will get Justice soon.

Scott,
It has been several years since you gave your life. I remember too well what I saw that evening and I remember too well cleaning up the scene after it was processed. I did that job with the utmost respect for you, Not a day goes by that I have not thought of you, my fellow officers or that day. I remember rushing into the institution and knowing your fate. I went to the wall recently in Washington and found your name and took pictures of it. T have told my current wife all about you, SORT and what it was like at Lompoc. I still have your name band on the wall in my study we all had made. May your family get justice soon. Continue to watch over all of the officers still on watch in the prisons across america. Rest in peace my brother..until we meet again

Hello My Brother;
As you well know, I spent some time with you at your resting place this past April 3, 2006. Sorry I haven't been back since the day you were laid to rest in 1997, it's been difficult for me. It was wonderful to spend some time with you though. Myself and your Lompoc SORT brothers paid our respects and reflected on your life. We talked of your old clunker car, your musty old Chevron hat and your incredible running abilities... :) The day you passed changed my life forever. Every day is spent as if it is my last. I enjoy every living monent now and I tell the ones I love, that I love them every chance I get. Not a day goes by that your not thought about. I'll never forget, you and I in back of the pack during those long long Lompoc SORT training runs. We weren't slow, we just wanted to make sure everyone finished OK and that no one got lost...he he. I just want you to know that you are with me on every run I take. When I need that extra lift, I look to my right at you and you tell me, "keep on movin." You will forever be with me. Scott...stay strong and stand proud my brother...

Until we run together again...

Your SORT brother

Scott, I had the luck of meeting two of your friends in the last few months. He is a fellow Officer and jogging buddy to you. She is his wife. They recently moved to my area from Lompoc. They had wonderful things to say about you and your family. I want your family to know that you are still missed and loved and your memory lives on. You are a hero for even when you were stabbed, they told me you fought the inmate as he attacked another officer, saving his life. May you rest in peace and keep watch over your family.

Officer Williams,
Thank you for your bravery and service. You are a true hero. My department also recently experienced losing a good officer, Manuel Gonzalez, EOW 1-10-05. You will always be remembered.

In the early 1990's I worked as a correctional supervisor at USP Lompoc. Although I did not know officer Williams, I know what he was: a professional lawman just doing his job the way it was supposed to be done. Many of the staff currently working at USP Lompoc were there at the same time I was. Although very belated, I send condolences to the family of Officer Williams, his friends and his co-workers and pray to never have to send another. Thank you Mr. Williams, for having been one of us.
