Reflections for Police Officer Richard P. Wentlandt
Although some of the BEST of us have to go. We must still appreciate them. Although I was not born when he was one that I'll look up to. Why? you asked because he wanted the streets I walk to be safe for me to play in and travel.

Your are a true hero and your crusade against evil on the day that you saved that womans life will always be remembered because you vanquished a coward and a predator with your unequalled courage.
Now you rest in Gods Kingdom knowing that you will not be forgotten.

Do know that you will never be forgotten. MDPD Training Brueau named a life like city after you called "survival city". Your picture and story is viewed by all who come to train there. God Bless and thank you for your courage!!!!

I began my Law Enforcement career in S. Florida. I recall attending an Officer Survival inservice training hosted by MDPD in which Ofc. Wentlandt spoke to the students as a guest speaker. Even though he was on supplemental oxygen at the time, the courage to survive was felt by all, as he relayed his personal experience to the students. God Bless his family and friends.
