Reflections for Officer Carroll Gordon Bargatze

I never met you but my Dad, your brother, told me about you. I’m your namesake (middle name is Carol). My mom and Dad, John and Mary Katherine Elder named me after you. I was born 9 months after you were killed. The world has turned on the police. It has made me think about you. I honor you for your service as well as all police, past and present. RIP.

You gave the ultimate sacrifice while responding to assist a fellow officer in need. "There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:13. We thank & honor you on this day. Your Memorial Page has been posted on several Metro/Nashville Police Dept.'s Social Media sites. You Are Not Forgotten.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 48th anniversary year of your death. I am privilege to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I was never given the honor of meeting him as my grandfather. But I however know him through my grandmothers eyes and for those years he served as a policeman and loving husband and father I know him through there love and memories. Love Tonya cardoza

Though we are unaware of the circumstances involving your ultimate sacrifice, we do know that you gave your life in the line of duty. For that you are a hero and will not be forgotten.
