Reflections for Police Officer Daniel T. Fraembs

Dan,

It's been 28 years since you went home to Heaven. Thinking of you again, and missing you. I listened to Dan Fogelberg and Olivia Newton-John songs again in your honor. I miss you greatly, think of you often, talk to you occasionally, and will see you again sooner than later.

Please give my son Mattie a hug, and help him when he needs it.

You are such a good soul. Love you & miss you. Thoughts and prayers for your Mom and sister Darah.

God Bless,
Greg

Daniel,
I know you are no longer on this earth, but you are watching over your mother and sister. They both still feel your loss. I was blessed knowing you in high school and you are deeply missed.
God Bless you my friend

Dan,

It's been 27 years since you went home to Heaven. Thinking of you again, and missing you. I played Dan Fogelberg and Olivia Newton-John songs in your honor. As any Boy Scout would understand: "You left this campsite in much better condition than you found it in". I miss you greatly, think of you often, talk to you occasionally, and will see you again sooner than later.

Please give my son Mattie a hug, and help him when he needs it.

You are such a good soul. Love you & miss you. Thoughts and prayers for your Mom and sister Darah.

God Bless,
Greg

I remember you, Dan, when we sat next to each other in music theory class at Forest Park High School. I remember thinking of what an extraordinary and kind person you were. So easy to talk to at a time when I had difficulty talking to anyone. You always made my day brighter. So sorry to hear of your passing. Even though you are missed terribly, heaven is a brighter place with you in it.

Dan,
We worked together in triage at OCSD. I always knew it would be a good night if you were on duty. You were always calm and in control and handled inmates with mental disorders with such professionalism. You were also so much fun to work with. You used your martial arts training expertly yet, were humble. You were such a trustworthy, solid guy. Gone far too soon. We used to tease you and try to set you up with nurses. You always declined and I will never forget you saying that you didn’t think it would be fair to someone because you could be hurt or lose your life in the line of duty. You were that honorable. I think of that whenever I think of you. I used to commute by the stretch of highway named for you. 24 years later and I have not forgotten you. I hope that your family knows how many lives you touched during your short life. I know so many others remember how honorable you were. See you on the other side one day.

Mother put flowers at the tree in Forest Park Sunday. I had stopped by her house and she wasn't home. It took me a moment to realize where she might be. Remembering you always.

Hey Dan,

It's been 23 years since we lost you. I talked to you last at the IHOP off green river drive, Corona. We talked about your transfer to Pomona PD and how my FTO program was going at the sheriffs department. My wife said it was not like me to let my food get cold. A few days later, God called you home. I'll never forget the fun times we had at the sheriffs department before you transferred to Pomona. Rest easy, friend.

You are a bright angel now Dan, along with Richard (Kato) who joined you in June, 2004. You two were great friends, who shared many things in common; martial arts sparing sessions, shooting, training with each other all while planning and testing with the sheriff’s department. Dan, you were our welcomed guest for breakfast, lunch and dinner’s often. You were a true gentleman, a warrior with a contagious smile, an infectious humor and a quick wit... You and Richard shared the warriors creed and considered each other your brother. You joined Orange County’s Sheriff’s Dept. , & Richard joined Los Angeles Sheriffs. I know Richard loved you and missed you dearly as did I...Rest In Peace Sweet Dan. God Bless you and your family.

To Mr.Fraembs Family,

I remember cheering and being happy that this man died. I grew up being part of the Happy Town street gang. My friend's older brother killed him....We all cheered. I am now a Marine Gunnery Sergeant and I look back at this memory of me being a stupid brainwashed kid and I'm disgusted at myself that I was ever a part of that lifestyle. I'm so sorry for the family. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. This man is my brother for life and I didn't even know it at the time. Semper Fidelis Daniel T. Fraembs! See you on post.

Danny. I attended a fellow brother's funeral this week. Driving through Pomona's streets lined with folks and city personnel paying tribute to Greggory brought back that same deep ache I felt the day we honored you. I shall never forget all the many kindnesses you showed me and the story you shared about your humble beginnings on that beach in Korea. I think of you often and carry your promise to me .... "forever protected, never indebted" ..... Rest in God's grace. With much affection, Dems

Only two years on as a San Gabriel Police Officer, I attended your funeral services (1996) - first of many follow. Officer Fraembs, I did not know you and never had a chance to work with you - but it was an honor to have attended your service. Vividly, I remembered having a strong connection and emotion when I rendered a Marine's final salute to you, in front of your casket. Looking at your peaceful face, I saw me: we have strong resemblance back then. My heart ached for your family, friends, and fellow officers - shed tears for my fellow brother in blue and green (USMC) who I never knew and wished that I did.

And now, 22 years later - my heart ached again hearing your Pomona brother, Officer Greggory Casillas, had also paid the ultimate sacrifice (03/09/18) and his partner, Officer Alex Nguyen (who had paid tribute to you as a police cadet), was also wounded.

Thank you for your sacrafice and dedicated service, still remembered seeing your face that day - you will never be forgotten. Ever.

Semper Fi, brother.

Dan,

I remember and understood your humor those days working Intake at OCSD. I waited for the day you would rip out some crooks heart and show it to him before he dropped. It didn't happen because you were that "courageous calm" we learned about in the academy. Still remember and think about you all these years later.
