Remembering a fallen classmate on this sad anniversary. Sandy's spirit and enthusiasm live on, through those of us who knew and served with her. Go 64th.

Each year, your parents gather with friends, in your memory. I am proud to say that I am counted among that group. Although it is not an even trade, this is just a portion of the good that has come from your death.
Your parents have become very important parts of the Concerns of Police Survivors and have been of invaluable assistance to many others.
If for no other reason, this means that your death was not in vain.
I regret that I never had the opportunity to know you.

Sister Wagner,
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Respectfully,

Sandra, you are a TRUE HERO. I met your parents this morning at the Philadelphia Navy yard for the ceremony before the run from Washington to DC. Such sweet people. Please know that your sacrifices will NEVER be forgotten. You live on in the memory of other law enforcement officers everywhere and in those who were fortunate enough to share their lives with you. Say hello to Bert up there. You both are in such a safe and beautiful place.

We in UK COPS learned of Sandra's tragic death through contact with her parents, who are among the people who inspired and encouraged us to extend this great organization into the UK.
I wear Sandra's sunflower pin now and then, a reminder of the loss of such a young life, and through her parents, of the ongoing part she has played in the creation of UK COPS.
