Brother Lanier,

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Respectfully,
You’re Brothers in Blue

Police Officer Derrik Lanier
I, can remember in 1993 when you were helping us process for the job. You were very honest with us and helpful. Remember after I was finally hired, and receive a broadcast or an on view to respond to a call and needed back up. You were always there to serve. You will always be missed by me and all others that worked with you.

May you now rest in peace forever.

~~~To those I Love and Those Who Love Me~~~
When I am gone, release me, Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while if indeed you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart,
I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll
Hear all of my love around you soft and clear
And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home"
Rest easy, brother. You are not forgotten. You lived and died a hero. May God comfort those you leave behind and may he condemn your killers.
Deputy M. Moore
Warren County S.O. (OH)
My prayers are with your family. Rest in peace brother.
Police Officer
Denver Police Department
I was working the night of your death. I was a rookie, in my last month of probation. I was the second car on the scene. When we heard the "Shots fired , Officer Down " at 96th and Madison , we got there as fast as we could, but, alas , we could not save you. The only cosolation I take is the fact that you were wearing the uniform you loved and died doing what you wanted. God bless and keep your soul.
