Sergeant Kubala:

Thank You for having served the Carolina Community.

Bobby Wayne Stone will eventually leave this Earth (legal manipulations or not), and when he and other demons try to penetrate Heaven's Gates, You and others will be there to drive the hordes back.

20 days short of 12 years. It's a long time but it still feels like it was yesterday. I know i still cry from time to time. on a happier note, Alex and I get to have sisterly time together, and I get to hang with Charlie quite a bit now that I live near them. We all miss you terribly. I love and miss you Uncle Charlie. Please continue to watch over us!

Charlie I still can't believe your gone. I cherish the wonderful memories I have of you when we worked together. You were a true professional, an outstanding police officer and a great daddy. Charlie you are my partner in spirit, you are always with me. "Go rest high on that mountain, your time on earth is through".

Charlie,

We recently celebrated your life at our 25th Sumter High School Reunion. Your parents were there sharing in the celebration and believe me you were missed. Just wanted to let you know that you have not been forgotten.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Charlie,

I never got to meet you, but I married a good friend of yours who has never spoken a word about you other than words of love and admiration. I have had the priviledge of meeting your wife and children and other members of your family and they all are so proud and honored to have called you father, husband, and brother. May you rest in eternal peace and know that the sacrifice you made and the love for others you showed will never be forgotten.

Charlie, I just lost another comrad and brother in law enforcement here in Richmond, and while searching through these pages I saw you. It quickly brought back many memories of you, and how you were quick to smile and speak. I remember DEA School in Charleston, that was a blast.
Hey Brother your watch has ended. We got it, all we ask is that you take and keep our back....

Detective Wilson
Richmond Police

I'll never forget that night. I had only been out of the academy for about three weeks. I still remember that lump in my throat when I heard the radio traffic. My patrol car could not travel fast enough in your direction. Even though I had only met you a few weeks prior to that night, you were still my brother.
God Speed...

BROTHER, I STILL RECALL ATTENDING YOUR FUNERAL. IT WAS HEART BREAKING TO SEE THE WIDOW AND CHILDREN SAYING A FINAL GOODBYE TO YOU. SOME DAY, THEY WILL SAY HELLO TO YOU, AND THEN YOU WILL BE REUNITED ETERNALLY. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER. GOD BLESS.
