~~~To those I Love and Those Who Love Me~~~
When I am gone, release me, Let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while if indeed you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart,
I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll
Hear all of my love around you soft and clear
And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say,
"Welcome Home"
In Memory...
~~~~~The Broken Chain~~~~~

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.~~In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.~~It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.~~You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.~~Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.

I just want to say I am So sorry for the loss of Lauretha. I am not from Philly, nor am i a police officer. I just have heard this story many times as I listen to a philly singer/songwriter name G Love and Special Sauce. They have a song called "slipped away" that they wrote in late 90's. And after hearin that song 1,000 times (since he is my favorite) i had to see this. I am so sorry for all the family of Lauretha, to LV: you are gone, but will NEVER be forgotten! Even by those you never knew...R.I.P.

I was just listening to a CD that I've listened to many times before, and heard a song. I finally looked up the name on the song on the web. It saddened me to see what I've seen. To Lauretha's family and friends, I'm sorry about her death and I hope time has brought peace and comfort.

Officer Vaird,
So many things I could say. I'll sum it up. God Bless You.

Volunteer R. Butler
Knoxville police Department

I am not a police officer. I am not a government official. I was a juror on the Lauretha Vaird murder trial. As I sat in my juror's chair listening to the events of that fateful day, I noticed the Vaird family, who were saddened by the tragic and sudden death. But what I noticed most, was a young child in the 3rd or 4th row. He had no idea why he was there, or where his mother was. My heart went out to that one child. But the evidence was over-bearing, and the right verdict was given, beyond a reasonable doubt.

God Bless You Lauretha!
