Rest in peace Detective Zore. Yesterday, I visited your grave at Woodlawn Park South and those of your beloved parents. A handsome and brave young man taken too soon. You left an impression to be felt for generations to come. Sad about your wife Maritza passing away about seven years ago. Both of you raised a fine and upstanding daughter in Rosemary who started a foundation in your blessed and heroic name, an angel soaring higher each second.

Rest in peace Detective Zore. I read that your beloved wife Maritza passed several years ago and I don't know if she is buried next to you at Woodlawn Park South in Kendall. I performed a couple funerals there late last year. A hero forevermore!

Bobby,
I often look at your page on this site to read Randy's note to you. He died a year after that post and I know he's with you.
You would be so very proud of Rosemary. She is absolutely a gorgeous, good and caring woman. She has established a foundation in your name. The foundation does great things nationwide to support LEO families who lost a parent. You'd be excited to know that she and Mike are getting married this summer. He is a great guy and he adores her. The RPOC has made her an Honorary Member and she and Mike will be going to the reunion next month. She misses you and Maritza very much.
Continue to watch over her and keep an eye on Randy for me.

I still remember that night like it was yesterday. I remember the dispatch of a robbery call at Dadeland Mall followed by an officer down call. As we searched for a subject late into the evening I will never forget the dispatcher advising the officer had expired. RIP Robert and Maritza (his wife) and God Bless Rosemary, Officer Zore’s daughter.

God bless you Sgt. Hernandez. I too, remember that night and to this day remember each Christmas this terrible incident and hold Officer Zore in our prayers. At the time, we lived in Kendall Lakes Townhouse at kendall and 137th Ave. As I recall, Officer Gore had met his wife for dinner that evening and they had a young child. I am 83 years old, retired RN after 32 years from the VA in Miami and now reside in Alabama

My first Christmas as a Police officer ended with the knowledge that we at the Metro-Dade Police had lost our second officer of 1983. Your tragic and untimely loss served to steel our resolve during the "paradise lost" days in Dade County, FL. RIP ROBERT ZORE, lost to us 32 years ago today.

To the Family of Robert Zore, American Hero. I have managed to pick up an original media picture of Officer Zore from Ebay, believe it or not. It is a B&W, 3.5" x 5", dated March 1984. It also has several "Date Used" dates, which I can only assume were from subsequent articles in the Miami Herald.
If Officer Zore has any children, sisters, brothers, parents, etc... any immediate family that would like to have this photo, please contact me at [email protected] or at [email protected] and I will send it at no charge, of course.
I was familiar with this case, and many others, as I'm an old Dade County transplant boy. I grew up in North Dade and started my career in Law Enforcement in Dade County & Opa locka.
Please let me know!!
