I didn't know him but heard him interviewed on YouTube. He seemed really responsible and honest. It is really good to know that there are such people in this world. Thank you.

to the famiIy: of officer yost I was a juror on gary's murder case. I spent 3 months on jury duty and we did our best to reach the right verdict. I'm dissappointed the guilty are still getting paroled. and involved with drugs ( the reason for the murder).while justice might not happen in this life, be comforted, It will be in the next.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 39th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections. I am sure you are proud that your family has continued your legacy of protecting and serving. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

I cannot end this reflection without expressing regret that you and your family did not receive the justice warranted.

It disgusts me that your killer only served 16 years and again continues to commit crimes. This murderer gave you a life sentence by shooting you in the back and left you to die. Now he begs like a coward for his life.

I am writing a letter to ask that this animal be denied parole.

Rest in peace.

What a terrible loss for this officer's family to lose their loved one but what a great honor and legacy they have created in the way they are living their lives and I from reading the prior posts believe Officer Yost must be so proud of his family. He must have been a wonderful man. Love never dies.

It's hard to believe that over 35 yrs have gone by; we had only been back in Akron for a few years and this was unheard of back then. I know you watch from above, and whisper of danger to those who will hear... you will be our hearts always, as is your family. God Bless you for who you were and what you did.

Although I never knew your father, I heard many good things about him. My father Stan worked with him and says he was a good man and a good cop. God Bless your family and know Gary will NEVER be forgotten by APD and the officers here. Thank you Gary Yost for your service and sacrifice.

Although I Have never met you I am a close friend of your son Mark, and know the rest of your family. I am a police officer today because of your son Mark, and the visit we made to Gary in Tampa back in then 80's. Although I have never met you I can only imgine what a great guy you were based on the family. I hope you be resting comfortably and look forward to the day I meet you.

I have the honor of serving alongside your sons. Recently I have joined the local COPS organization where your son, Mark, is a member. He is compassionate about his profession, which I am sure started with you.

As the son of a retired Toledo Police Officer, I can assure you that making our fathers proud, means the world to us. Mark is a cops cops, and is thought of with the highest level of respect from those that work with him.

As you watch out for us from above, I'm sure you are glowing with pride. Thank you for your service, bravery, and sacrifice. May God Bless you and your family.
