Hell-o my name is Raymundo (Raymond) M. Ynostroza I live in Upland, California. I am now retired from the California Highway Partol. A co-worker had asked me a few years ago if I had a relative in the Colorado High Patrol. He said his name was Joseph Ynostroza I was surprised I thought I might have a relative in the Patrol in Colorado, But then he said that he had died in a Traffic Collision, that was very sad to hear. l send my deepest Condolence from my family to Joseph's Family. God Bless all of you and I know that Joseph is with God Patrolling in HEAVEN. Raymond M Ynostroza

Rest in Peace, Trooper Ynostroza. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Officer 11169

January 24, 2012

Trooper Ynostroza - Three Fridays ago, on a very rainy morning, I was in the State Assembly chambers when your name was read off as one of the almost 250 others, during a motion regarding this month's Police Memorial week. I stood next to CSP Chief Wolfinbarger who acknowledged the mention of each and every CSP member.

Thank you for your service to the people of Colorado.
May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

Chief K. Moreland (Ret. Sgt.)
Palmer Lake, CO PD (Ret. LAPD)

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 20th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

Trooper Ynostroza, I didn't have the pleasure of meeting you however, I have had the pleasure of working along side your son Joe. You must be so proud of your son, as he has followed in your footsteps. Your dedication to duty will never be forgotten.

Pop, Thoughts of you ran heavy during our camping trip last week in the San Juan Mountains. We were reflecting on Gina reeling in that monster Trout when we were kids at Little Molas. Darian took his first buck in the fall and Bri brought in a couple that when just under 20 at the Butte's. To see her on a fly rod would make you smile. Made it out to Wrigley field finally! They might surpise us all in October! Miss you and Love you. Keep your eye on sis for us K. La Familia

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Trooper-
The only reason you are no longer with us is God had an opening for a Trooper and you were the only one qualified. Keep the roads of heaven safe and secure. You are gone but not forgotten.
