I just today discovered that you were a police officer and that you had fallen in the line of duty. I never had heard this story from my grandmother or anyone else in my family though her mother (my great grandmother - second marriage for both of you after you both were widowed) was married to you when you passed. Thank you for your service and for your ultimate sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
