Reflections for Officer David L. Worcester
I was researching and discovered that you had served the citizens of Kensington, CA on their PD prior to moving to OPD in 1949. My dad went to work in Kensington a few years later, in fact the same year you gave your life for the community. Rest easy and may you always be remembered for the good you did here during your years one this earth.

Every year since 2009 I have made the blue ribbons with the 51 names of the Oakland Police Officers who have died in the line of duty. It is my honor to do this for the fallen officers. The ribbons hang on a tree outside the Warehouse Bar and Grill in Oakland, California for all to see the sacrifice they have made to keep us safe. God bless you all and rest in peace.
A grateful citizen

Dad,
You were killed three weeks before I was born so I never had the benefit of profiting from your experience. I know however that I've inherited many of the qualities that made you special and unique to others. Mom always talked about your moral compass and kind nature, your sense of humor and your love of motorcycles...I carry these within me and I thank you for passing them along.
I Love you, Keith

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifty first anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
Yesterday I attended the memorial service for your four fallen OPD brothers who were shot on the darkest day of OPD history.
