Inspector Wood,
On today, the 93rd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you to you and your fellow officer who was also killed that day for your service and sacrifice for our Country. I am a Border Patrol Agent assigned to El Paso Sector and have patrolled the area where you were killed and once in a while it can still get pretty wild.

I am now retired from DEA but in 1995 with a colleague I had the privilege of researching the line of duty deaths of those remember on the DEA Memorial Wall. Charles Arch Wood and Stafford Beckett who were killed together in El Paso Texas in 1921 have stayed with me all these years. I am writing about them in hopes of someday publishing their stories. If anyone has personal knowledge of Mr. Wood or is a member of his family I would love to hear your reflections.

Court decisions have stated clearly that people do not have the right to resist even an unlawful arrest. You, Special Agent Wood, were there for lawful purposes and it cost you your life. You and Agent Becket did not deserve to die at the hands of these miscreants. You died in the line of duty and then your family died a little at the treatment you received at the hands of the Justice System.
You have not been forgotten. God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
