Sgt Ted Wolski. You were a leader and a hero in our Detroit neighborhood in the 1960’s. I remember and still feel the shock that day in August. 1968 learning what happened to you and seeing how your loss crushed the spirits or your two young sons and devastated our neighborhood.

I learned you gave your life in service, pursuing someone who should never have been out on the street to begin with. Your murderer is also the man who raped and murdered my grandmother's young cousin, for which he was convicted and sentenced to 199 years in prison. How he only served 11 years of that sentence before getting out I will never understand. Through this website, I did, however, learn that he was sentenced again to life and subsequently died in prison, where he never should have left to begin with. RIP, Sir. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
