Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Thomas Wolfe
I often wonder what it would have been like to have met Thomas Wolfe. He was my Grandfather and was killed before I was born. All I have to go on is what my father tells me about him but he was only 18 when he died so he never got to fully know his father as he should have. I am thankful for my Dads recollection of his service though.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 60th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

I was honored to attend a service at Deputy Wolfe's graveside today on the last day of Peace Officers Memorial Week in 2008. It was a crisp, windy day with a stunning blue sky and the green hills standing out across beautiful Albemarle County farmland - a view that has probably little changed since the day he was laid to rest in 1952. Such a senseless loss and such a tragedy for his family that is so obviously felt to this day and for many days yet to come.

Deputy Wolfe, Thank you for your service to the citizens of Albemarle County Va. To Thomas Wolfe jr Sir, thank you for allowing me to meet with you and ask questions and learn more about your father, it was inspirational to me to hear about how great a man and father he was. As a retired/injured officer I still respect the integrity and sacrifice that my fellow brothers and sister endure. I hope the small ceremony in Albemarle in 1999 helped heal some of the pain you may have felt. Please know there are those out there who still care.
