Roger Winkelman is my Dad. I have missed him every day of my life. I was ten when he was killed. He was a great Dad. He loved with his whole heart. His family meant everything to him and he loved his work. He once helped a woman give birth. The cab driver asked for his help. He came home that evening and told my Mom he had delivered a son. He was so excited. He told me never to do anything to shame our name and I haven't. He loved God and Our Country. He has always been my hero.

Your heroism and service is honored today as we approach the fifty first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was shot twice when ambushed on April 23rd when he was on a foot pursuit of two bank robbers, 47 years after you were killed.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.
