Reflections for Deputy U.S. Marshal Joseph S. Wilson

my great grandmother’s grandson she raised after his mother passed. Unable to locate the burial site in Tahlequah I recently purchased two bricks the place on the walk in the museum in Fort Smith commemorating his existence.

Most of society lives in a world that doesn’t recognize what gives them the comfort they live in. Because of you, and people like you, society can live that way.

You put the badge on to make the community a better place. You put the badge on for justice. You put the badge on to save life. You put the badge on for the principles it represents. The badges didn’t make you a hero, the badge was worn by a hero. To your family, and the generations that followed, thank you for your service. Be proud of this man.

The sorrow we share as a law enforcement family is enormous, but our love of your life is even greater.

You were a hero in the eyes of your family back then as you are today. Rest in Peace.

Deputy Marshal Wilson,
On today, the 120th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country. That your murderers were given just light sentences infuriates me. I hope they got what they deserved later on.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 118th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.

I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.

God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.

...Gone, but never Forgotten....
