Your ultimate sacrifice has led to a continuation of tradition among police officers. I am inspired by your act of bravery and you are not forgotten. I am proud to say I am from the county that you once protected and because of you and so many others it was possible to have a Houston TX in the first place. In about 3 or 4 years after I graduate college I will become a State Trooper in CT, the state where my wife is from. Your memory and bravery will be with me when I am serving and protecting as you once did. Once again you are not forgotten and thank you. Rest in peace.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003). Unfortunately, I had to add the name of another friend recently. Deputy Jeffery Hewitt, Buncombe County (NC) Sheriff’s Department, E.O.W. April 4, 2004.
I want to honor all of those who gave their life in the line of duty. Although your death was many many years ago, you are still a hero.
God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.
