Who pays you and the beat you walk is not what is of importance here, it's what you did. In this situation, you were murdered by thugs who meant nothing to society but a negative. I do not mourn the execution that happened in 1942 and would be a liar if I said I did. I DO however mourn WHY that execution took place, your murder.
Thank you for your service to the people of the City of Chicago and the nation as a whole. You are a hero even unto this day.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
