Office James B. Wiggins was my Great-Great Grandfather. My father, Lt. Dan Rowland, followed in his footsteps generations later, and served Chattanooga as a policeman for 27 years. Dad was an officer in Chattanooga's original K-9 corps, who was partner with a German Shepherd named Doc. Thank you, Great-Great Grandfather for giving your last full measure of service, and dad, for serving with honor and bravery.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 130th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
